Trade Roco to the Bulls to get our first back.

Trade 2023 and 2025 protected firsts to the Sixers with Cj for Ben.

Yes, please.

Dame, Simmons, lotto pick gets me excited.

that looks good, but how realistic is it to expect the Bulls to give back that pick for RoCo? I really don't know

cant see that. They need guys that can space the floor. Fox isn’t a shooter.
I think their desire for guys to space the floor is/was because of Ben. I think a much bigger need for them currently is someone who could get their own shot. In end of game situations, it's often difficult to toss it to your C, and they don't really have that late game playmaker otherwise. I don't love Fox, but he would at least provide them with some of that, more than what they have.

I don't know if the Bulls will give us back our pick for RoCo but according to a lot of national journalists RoCo and Nurk are both fairly sought after because of their abilities and bird rights. So at least one of those guys should be able to get us an unconditional 2022 first rounder from a contender and as soon as we have one, all of our future first rounders are available to move.

Sounds like CJ is more their guy than Fox would be in any case plus I would imagine they could squeeze more out of us with CJ than they can from Sac with Fox.

Watching the Celtics play and they could really use either CJ or Powell.

I don't think Boston is interested in Westbrook, but if they are (and there were murmurs), I think that CJ/Horford to LAL, Smart and a future pick to PDX, and Westbrook to Boston could work out if we think Smart can play 3 better than Powell. We'd still be somewhat undersized, but the cap relief would help us keep Ant.

If we could then swing Roco to Chicago, Pat Williams (and a pick of ours to Detroit), and Jerami Grant to us, I'd love our future.

Lillard/Simons
Powell/(Smart/Simons)
Little/Smart
Jerami Grant/Nance
Nurkic/(Zeller/Nance)

That team is a hell of a lot tougher than ours currently.

Edit: Only fails until Jan 15th.
I like this trade but I wouldn't take Danny Green. Green is valuable to them and this trade doesn't get us under the tax because of the trade kicker in Simmons' contract. Maybe we'd get Shake out of them but if not I'm still cool with the trade and it still works as far as the CBA with Philly taking both DJJ and CJ for Simmons. With Dame out I think we'd likely still be in shambles. I do think we would move Nurk for a stretch big because I don't think him and Simmons work together and I don't trust him to stick around here, so I wouldn't want to lose Nurk for nothing.

I believe Simmons can waive his trade kicker. I feel like in this situation he may be willing to do so.

Smart for Powell
Powell for smart
Smart for Powell
Powell for smart.

If Sixers need a 1st to get a deal done we can throw buy and send over a 2nd with Roco to get the 1st back. It's time we get creative.

I would love to see how Nurkic would do in Warriors. What Blazers can take from them?

I think once we come to the realization our season is a bust, making trade decisions becomes a lot easier. Teams like Boston and Atlanta are underperforming expectations. SAC/MIN/NY/CHA are desperate for the playoffs. GS/UTA/MIL/CHI are all going to try to bolster their existing rosters.

I think we'll have no trouble extracting picks or useful contracts for Roco/Nurk.

Genuinely don't think it would take more than a pick to land Wood given his depressed value. Here's an idea. Roco would slot in well next to Vucevic, while a Wood-Vucevic lineup is a bit clunky, hence the three teamer where Wood ends up here (we'd obviously have to find subsequent deals for Nurk). It's a risky move for us with Wood's volatility but we kick the can down the road for a year on his FA.

You want to trade Ant/+ to OKC for a different 22 year old who can't shoot and is an undersized SG or SF (listed as a SF on ESPN)? What kind of numbers do you think Ant would put up if he was on OKC playing the same 32.6 mpg that Dort gets?
Dort has DPOY potential.

Windhorst headlined his trade deadline preview with ATL and POR.

Suggested tankathon is coming for Portland and people around the league are anticipating Cov/Powell/Nurk could be on the move, and we let Simons do his thing for the rest of the year. Being on the cusp of the play-in makes it not yet definitive that the Blazers are sellers. But given that not many teams are sellers, this could be a good time for Portland to extract more value in this down market.

Windhorst said there's more of an appetite for CJ in a trade to a mid-market team than you'd expect.

Use the Kings as an example. Sacramento is now reportedly open to making De’Aaron Fox and/or Tyrese Haliburton available in the right deals, and those aren’t equal propositions for Philadelphia. In all likelihood, sources say, a deal involving Fox would almost certainly have to be a three-team deal, moving Fox to another party in order to get what the Sixers think they need. And while the Sixers like Haliburton and feel good about his potential fit, the sense is he’s not at the level they’re after for a primary piece in return for Simmons, that the Iowa State product would need to be one part in a more extravagant return.

Tyrese Maxey’s emergence looms large in all of this, with Philadelphia seeing redundancy between Maxey and players like Fox, preferring to keep rolling with the hard-working kid they already have in-house

Might as well deal Dame too then.

What if you were willing to deal anyone - Lillard included, but kept simons and Nassir, and could end up with De’Aron Fox, Bagley, Maxey and Ben Simmons. You lose CJ, Nurk, Lillard, Roco, Norm. (A lot) Now your core is all 23-25 years old. You obv need size. You add it in draft and another deal.

So we end up with Ant, Fox and Maxey??? I don't like that. If we got one of those guys offloaded to another team for some size then I could see it but I actually don't want any of them playing together because they're all best with the ball in their hands and are small.
