I hate to be overly negative, but I'm afraid I've started actively rooting against Philly. I'm so tired of Morey's outrageous bs "rumors" that he feeds to the media. I'm hoping they have to play in the playin, and lose and not make the regular playoffs, wasting a year of JE's prime.

same. and their fans are super annoying. this guy made a nearly 40 min vid on now why Ant is going to Philly's savior. Get your own talent damnit

Portland has pulled McCollum from the market. The rumor is it's difficult to get the value they covet for C.J. and they would rather keep him. They are targeting Julius Randle who's been struggling bad for RoCo and Nance. This could be a deal that happens as NY wants to get rid of Randle. Word is, Portland thinks they can do a SnT with C.J. and their 1st to land a star like Kyrie. It seems like getting Kyrie is their priority.

Let's break this down.

Portland has pulled McCollum from the market. The rumor is it's difficult to get the value they covet for C.J. and they would rather keep him. Sounds like Olshey is still the GM, but since Joe worked under Neil for so long, that could still be the case. Also, it has merit because of CJ's contract...it will be difficult to get great value. #Believable

They are targeting Julius Randle who's been struggling bad for RoCo and Nance. This could be a deal that happens as NY wants to get rid of Randle. Again, makes sense and isn't outside the realm of possibility. If you could do that and get Randle anywhere close to where he was last year, it's a win-win. #Believable

I doubt very highly that we've "pulled McCollum off the market" because we haven't got the offer we want for him yet (two and a half weeks before the deadline). I doubt very highly that RoCo and Larry interest the Knicks because they still have Toppin. Obviously the Kyrie thing makes no sense if we still have Dame, not to mention Ant. None of this holds any water with me.

absolutely.
btw, why would any team "pull" anyone off the trade market right before the trade deadline?

Does Ben McLemore have trade value? Can we extract anything more than a 2nd round pick? He's gonna get buried once Powell comes back.

Unfortunate that he doesn't make more $ to bring back anything of value player wise, but he's having a great season.

9pts, 41% from 3 on nearly 6 attempts a game. 61% TS all in just 17 mpg. A team like Cleveland/Chicago/Boston could desperately use his shooting.
I think we should keep him since most trades have us moving potentially even CJ + Powell + Ant to get stars. Depends on how many Guards we are sending out.

It's implied (to me) that we are trading Simons for Simmons which I would begrudgingly do. Simons would be the CENTERPIECE though and we would have to fill out the salary somehow. I'm not trading Simons and CJ for Simmons unless we get Thybulle or perhaps Maxey back.

Fishcer continued to reiterate our supposed interest in Grant, among like a third of the league. Windhorst said on his pod that Grant's reps actually gave the Pistons a list of teams he'd like to play for.

Just baffling to me how much he's getting overrated. He's a high usage, mediocre efficiency player who hasn't impacted winning ever in his career and we're getting reports of him wanting to be a first option on offense. I'd rather keep Nas and his rookie scale contract at this point than look down the prospects of extending Grant to a 100+ mil deal in a couple months.

He looked extremely mediocre in the Olympics. So did Dame, but Dame was clearly hurt. It was pretty eye opening to see how propped up some players are by the NBA. Bradley Beal, Jerami Grant, and even Dame to an extent.

The more I think about it, the more I want John Collins. Any chance they'd be tempted by a CJ/RoCo package?

That reminds me that I just read the Jerami Grant doesn't want to go to LA cuz he would be the third option.
I wonder if Jerami Grant would be the most happy on the Washington Generals? Losses don't matter to him, he could handle the ball every play, and nobody really cares about turnovers or anything he does either.

I wonder how true that stuff is. He’s never gonna be a first or second option on a good team, so he may as well just stay in Detroit if that’s all he’s worried about. But I also read he gave management a list of teams he’d play for.

I think Collins would be a great addition. I just have a hard time seeing the Hawks having interest in package Portland could put together. Unless maybe that package included Simons but I have a hard time seeing a Trae/Ant back court being that desirable (same for a Trae/CJ duo). Maybe Powell would be more attractive to them?

Olshey obligating Portland's 1st round picks till 2028 is a giant monkey-wrench as a parting gift

Supposedly they're interested in upgrading their defense, hence the RoCo suggestion. But I have no real idea what they actually want for him.

I'm all for having confidence in yourself but some of these players clearly don't understand that there are only 30 teams that can have a number one option. And if you are 50th best player in the league how does that work???

Some notes from Fischer call today...

Pistons apparently had interest in Powell in FA and their coach has a connection with Norm from his Toronto days.

Also mentioned Pels having serious interest in CJ.

Portland might become buyers at the deadline.
