I have a hard time seeing why NY is coveting CJ. But if they are, how about CJ to NY; Randle and a 1st to Atlanta; and John Collins to Portland?

I'll also say that if Cronin has Grant higher on his target list than Collins, he's an even bigger fool than he appears

If you'd ask me who I'd rather have -- John Collins, Julius Randle or Jerami Grant -- (and, BTW, no one has asked me), I'd say Collins.

Randle is a better play-maker and a slightly better rebounder. Offsetting that a bit is that his assist/turnover ratio is terrible for a playmaker

The other thing to consider with Randle is he's shown some ticking-timebomb flags this year. I like Chauncey's ability to manage personalities, but, if you don't have to add a problem, don't.

if flexibility is our main goal, i want nothing to do with that fournier contract. we just gave up a better player on a similar contract for scraps.

That's a fair point, but realistically we aren't trading CJ without getting stuck with at least one bad contract coming back.

tell me if I'm wrong: Blazers have back 2 back games Tuesday and Wednesday. Both games less that 40 hours before the deadline

If CJ is really on the block will Portland risk playing him in those two games? If he does play is that a sign Cronin is going to sit on his hands? (something he should have done Friday)

I kind of feel like Randle has the lowest floor and highest ceiling of the 3. He could be a disaster on a 5 years contract earning over 30 million in 2026 if his head isn't on straight.

But maybe this team needs to take some risks like that. We aren't going to contend by getting a bunch of safe additions.

Maybe thats why the delay between Clippers and Knicks trades? Blazers are trying to time it so nobody on either side of the Blazers Knicks trade is available those 2 games. Helps the tank.

My deal to NY:
CJ
Mac
For
Randle
Reddish
That's what I was thinking. I have read that Thibs does not really like Reddish so I think they would do it. Would have to be a little concerned about Reddish though; didn't fit in two different situations?

Randle AND a pick for CJ? NY ain't doing that.

Randle has completely burned the bridge there. His value is significantly lower. I guess with our shitty GM I should be happy if a decent deal gets made at all.

Anything with NY that doesn’t include Quickley is a no-go.

Randle’s value is at an all-time low.

Well, this guy likes his defense; claims he was Hawks' best defender:
"Cam Reddish was an enigma in the 2019 NBA Draft. Ranked behind Duke (and new Knicks) teammate RJ Barrett as the second-best recruit in the country in 2018, Reddish struggled in his one season with the Blue Devils. He shot only 39.4% from 2-point range and was a dismal 33.3% marksman from the shorter collegiate 3-point line.

As Zion Williamson’s draft stock soared at Duke, Reddish’s plummeted. He was still there when the Atlanta Hawks prepared to select 10th overall.

Reddish was a poor shooter as a rookie (42.8% from 2 and 33.2% from 3). He improved inside the arc last season (46.0%) but regressed from deep to 26.2%.

This season, though, he has exceeded league average while hitting 37.9% from long range. His mid-range game doesn’t work yet (29.3% on shots from 10 to 16 feet and 23.1% on long 2s), and he settles too often (those shots make up 23.4% of his attempts).

But Reddish wasn’t just the best perimeter defender for the Hawks; he was their best defender. Period. He’s bouncy and switchable, with arms disrupting passing lanes all over the place. And now he’s a Knick."
Is it a dream we could get those two for CJ?

Far more realistic than getting Simmons or Siakam

Except Reddish can not be traded in aggregate with another player. He could be traded for Winslow in a separate trade though.

lol....that's a clever theory. The one flaw is that would require Cronin to be playing 3D chess...?

What about Wood though? If Houston wants to tank for a couple more years, might they be interested as a third party team in a CJ trade?

They are high in Wood. I don't think they want to move him. They see him as part of the core they want to build around with Green and others.

Let's get Wood and Collins together. FCOTF.

Think whoever is running the official account got tired of the hate.

Woj just said on ESPN that the Pelicans and Knicks are very interested in CJ
