I don't want to flip the potential lottery pick for Grant, but if it happens I won't be mad. Gonna change my avatar to Evan Mobley next.

Going to play Devil's advocate on Grant for a min and my point is simple

He is playing in Detroit with a team that sucks and was out of it a month into the season for the most part so it's possible on a team playing for something he will be checked into it not checked out like he seems to be in Detroit

However he is the son of an ex Blazer so we had Trent's son so time for another ex blazers kid ( Harvey Grant ) and according to his wiki page Born in Portland so perfect fit -- LOL

what will really piss me off is if Cronin trades both the pick and the TPE for Grant

I'm sure, if his interest is real, he's trying to trade Bledsoe for Grant

Yes at the very least, if we are trading that pick for Grant, make it Bledsoe going out and not the TPE.

Knowing Cronin though, he's offering the TPE and throwing in a lightly used Greg Brown while he's at it, for good faith.

Max I would give up is Bledsoe/NAW/Johnson/2025 second rounder (back to DET). Just break it up into multiple deals if needed.

More from Fischer:

A lot of executives thought Portland could have done that deal with LA without including Covington. People around the league felt they could have kept RoCo to move later on.

Also execs felt that we left draft capital on the board with the CJ trade. NO had a bunch more picks that could have been added to the deal, especially with Nance added, but Cronin did not insist on their addition.

for fucks sake....
So executives are saying all the same things we idiot forum members were saying? Shocking.

can't combine Bledsoe with other players and Detroit doesn't have any TPE that I see

Break it up into multiple deals. Bledsoe for Grant works by itself, and we have enough small contracts to match with their small contracts.

I don't understand. We got rid of a ball stopper for a bigger, more efficient scoring guard that could be great next to Dame. Now we're possibly going after a forward who could be a good #2 next to Dame. Is that not a good plan? Nobody wants to give up a young player that could be an All Star. Is that what some people wanted?

this is quite easy to workaround.

Bledsoe for Grant.
NAW for a salary filler.

Curious if Johsnon can be traded, though.

sure...but still have to trade players for players. Bledsoe only creates a 1.8M TPE for Detroit

Grant's offensive stats look very much like CJ's, but he's taller, I guess?

who is better Winslow or NAW? NAW's contract isn't guranteed next season
I think it's pretty clear NAW has some value. Pretty sure NO would have rather traded Hayes and a poor first and instead Cronin opted for NAW and a second.

Hey People, When Jerami Grant was playing in Denver, he shot 39% on 3-pointers, had an effective shooting % of 56 percent. and a true shooting percentage of 59 % . He won't be option #1 in Portland.

But he wants to be a #1/2 option and wants to be paid like one.

then Winslow for CoJo makes more sense

See, I assumed just the opposite, that Cronin would rather have had Hayes, but NO was like "you'll take NAW and like it, punk."

So? Didn't we do that with CJ McCollum? Are people expecting a better #2 option than CJ and pay him like a 4th option?

Here is my problem with Grant it feels like we traded a guard ( CJ ) for a SF/PF in Grant ( if it happens ) and they put out about the same in stats and not sure it makes the team any better in the long run specially when we gave up Nance who can play defense and cover up some of the mistakes on defense with hustle and such. I feel like this whole deadline is going to come down to what if anything can the Blazers do with that Bledsoe contract and I hope it is not to throw it in if the CJ trades becomes a 3 team trade with Det.

Going to say it again the waiting on how this plays out is starting to drive me crazy ( well more crazy - LOL )

lol..."people" have been wanting a better #2 option than both CJ and Grant. Neither player is #2 worthy
