Can the Ben Simmons stuff to Portland please just go away ?

Please as much as it would be a gamble to bring in a Grant or a Turner or {insert name here} at least there MIGHT be some upside but with Simmons i get a Oden vibe from him where b-ball is just not a real priority for him in the greater scheme of things. I have no confidence that Simmons really wants to work on his game and such so while he is talented i would have to PASS on Simmons.

Who do you want that is realistic?
 
i was thinking this morning if we could facilitate a Harden to Philly move by taking on Simmons, but not sure why BK would be interested in any of our non-Dame pieces instead of just taking on Ben.

We can't, nor will we have capspace in the to simply land Ben without giving up salary in return if we want to retain Ant/Nurk.
 
I am not sure who i want cause I am not sure there is that ONE player ( aka realistic target ) who would cure all that ails this team but I am pretty sure i know who would not be good for this team and that is Simmons

There may be a point where a lot of people are going to look silly. I hope so, because it would mean Cronin has done something that looks good (to them at least).

We won't be putting on our Rose-Garden colored goggles until he's actually a Blazer. He will then morph into a God!

I think it’s interesting Woj didn’t do a write up on the Pelicans trade yet. Not real noteworthy that it hasn’t been announced....yet
 
It's possible that Cronin, in the space of a few days, could turn the Trail Blazers into a top 10 defense for next season.

He'll be fine if you surround him with shooters. He is great at everything else. He's a 3 time all-defensive team guy and all-star at age 25. He gives us the highest ceiling.
 
Not going down this ben rabbit hole again. i literally spent months on this, not doing it once more. We are nothing more than a leverage play by Morey.

Conveniently forgetting they not only need to clear Ben but also Tobias to open up enough room for Harden this summer.

It's not happening.
 
I'm hearing James Harden is not playing tonight... Something seems to be happening. Hopefully Brooklyn does not want Simmons and instead prefer our pieces or Grant and we can take Simmons.

you're missing my point. Nearly 7 years ago Olshey decided that CJ was a worthy #2 option for a contender. Over 500 games later, each of which was proof that CJ was not a worthy #2, the Blazers finally abandoned the idea and realized that settling for a player like CJ had not worked and would not work. Then why would settling for Grant be any better? If they are landing Grant as a #3 option than fine. But for fucksakes, don't ever treat him, or pay him, like he's a #2 and an all-star

in other words, if Portland is looking for a #2 don't settle for Grant

Why wouldn't Detroit take Simmons? What does Detroit get?

It would be funny if we got Harden and he re-signed with us and Morey got fucked on both guys he wanted (Harden and Dame) by us. Never going to happen but it would be funny
