That is why if 'somehow' you could get Simmons, you just let him train/rehab the rest of the year, get your pick, then bring back Dame/Simmons/Ant/Nas/Hart/Winslow/etc to other pieces you can acquire and still get your good Lottery pick.
Yep, that would work!

And a chucker in FVV as the only PG.
We're running Siakam as a point-forward and he's killing it, but a backup PG should be on our shopping list today.

Eubanks went to Oregon State and played high school basketball in Oregon. I'll be rooting for him on your team. He has shown some decent flashes like he could be a rotational guy.
How is this guy not Russian?

Fixed for you.

They’re like 8 games over .500 after starting the season like shit.

Hopefully, Cronin can duplicate a rebuild like that.
im trying to slander TOR at every chance I get after the Gary Trent Sr. nonsense from last week where he trashed us. Stop fixing stuff.

I think we should move Bledsoe for a player that might actually have value to this team. Otherwise that Norm/Roco deal doesn't look any better than horrendous.

I think we should move Bledsoe if it makes our team better next year.

How the Norm Roco trade looks is a sunk cost, so nothing should be done going forward to make it look better.

Whats it say?

The Celtics are trading PJ Dozier and Bol Bol, a future second and cash to the Magic for a future second-round pick, sources tell ESPN. Dozier and Bol are both out for the season. Cost-savings for Boston.

@PtldPlatypus you would prolly know this... or maybe @RR7 if you're around

if we buyout Bledsoe, are there any ways we can get out of the $3.9 mil he's owed next year? Wouldn't the new contract he signs with another team next year be subtracted from the 3.9?

It gets reduced, by some weird calculation. I'll try to look it up. It's like half the new contract, minus a percentage or amount or something.
I would imagine we'd end up stretching him once earned, which would make the hit, I think, 1.3

I don't think we have any contract or combo of contracts to match Simmons in a trade right now except Dame?

Thanks!

hate the idea of stretching, but that's one way to eek out some more capspace if we need it.

The stretch provision to get 3 M of room is a good idea. If there is a use for it.

Not a contract....but contracts. We have only dropped our current salary obligations by about $13M since this purge started. They aren't attractive contracts, but they are there. The Salary Cap space doesn't come until this summer.

Wow, how far DiVincenzo has fallen. I guess Patty C made him expendable. Not sure I understand the Clippers here.

Of course, Bagley's fallen further, but then that had already happened. So basically the Kings traded the guy they took ahead of Luka Doncic for DiVincenzo.

I think they figured Pat C, Grayson Allen and DiVincenzo were somewhat redundant.

Oh wait that might be racist.

No its not. Thats why we have Andrew Nicholson on the cap in 2024.

The Blazers won't contend next year, take the cap hit now.

Cronin couldn’t get in on those cost savings? FML

Ok, the reduction is his new salary, minus league minimum, divided by 2. So if he signed somewhere for 5 million, it'd be 5 - 1.8 or whatever the minimum is, so 3.2, divided by 2. So we'd clear 1.6 of the 3.9

What contracts? Bledsoe Hart Ingles deals can't be aggregated. The TPE cannot be combined. Nurk deal is only $12 million. Other deals we have are only rookie contracts or minimums.

I don't see how we can trade for Simmons now unless its Dame.

Does that actually come off the cap, or is it just cash reimbursed to the team?

If it is actually off the cap, we'd probably need Bledsoe to sign a deal before using that space, which with his standings as a lower tier free agent may be unlikely.

not completely unsubstantial...

but i don't think there's a team that will give him 5 mil this summer.

Can someone please save Boucher?

Dude is buried on that Toronto team. He produces every time he gets minutes. Needs to go to a team that needs a C.

Aren't the Raptors currently thought to be a team that desperately needs a C? Not trying to be flippant, but it tells you something...
