The AD to Portland trade thread....with absolutely no fiber whatsoever

I'd do CJ + Aminu + Collins + 19 first + 21 first + 23 pick swap no protections etc for AD + Moore + Randle.

Give em everything.
Yeah, you just tell them, anything but dame, what do you want?

After the Scottie Pippen trade (remember that?), I was convinced anything could happen, but time and Olshey have ruined that. I can't even pretend to pretend that Olshey could stop swimming laps long enough to make this happen. I can however pretend to hear about how close he was to making it happen after AD is traded to the Lakers...

Boston and LA can offer much more than us.
I don't know if LA can really. They don't have a big on his rookie contract with the upside of Zach and LA has no one who is an established scorer like CJ. The truth is CJ and Zach plus 2019, 21, and 23 first rounders should get it done. I just don't know if Neil would pay that ransom with the possibility that Davis walks after a season and a half.

And trading for AD would negate his DPE?

This is an awesome revelation. Great find!
Well Boston trading for him wouldn't negate his current DPE designation, but he would then be ineligible for the Super Max on his next free agency. He can only get that if he stays with New Orleans which prompted the "legacy over money" comments he made a few days ago. The only way Boston can legally trade for him this season is if they traded Kyrie either in a trade for him or in another trade. Once the new league year starts in July whatever contract Kyrie signs (if he re-signs) would then be considered made by Boston and not traded for, so they could then deal for AD. One of their trade chips (Rozier) would also be a free agent then so it would be difficult to include him in the trade.

I spoke to someone earlier and suggested that the Blazers ask for a conditional Lottery protected 1st back. The contingency being that is CJ made the all-star game although that would be easier in the East.

I honestly think if CJ had his own team, he will really cut loose. It just doesn't fit here with Dame.

Lebron is three days away from age 34.

Dame's 28.

6 years is a sizable gap.

The Pelicans are in the West though, unless I'm misunderstanding.

Wait, someone thinks the team could get Randle AND Davis?? There is no way they'd be able to pull that off. Getting Davis and Randle is a huge pipe dream. Hell, getting Randle is a pipe dream in itself.

He would be an awesome consolation prize. It'd have to be a trade where Portland would helping facilitate a trade. But it is incredibly unlikely that would ever happen.

Btw, if I was New Orleans, I'd try to get as much out of the Lakers as humanly possible. Ingram and Kuzma would be a nice duo to get.

Last summer Olshey was talking to the Pels about Boogie with Collins as a player they were interested in.

Maybe there was some rapport built there between Portland and New Orleans?

Neil is the one who traded Aminu and potpourri for CP when he was in LA

It must have plenty of fiber because I almost crapped my pants at the idea of it.

There it is. Took almost the end of the second page to get to the constipation/crapped my pants joke that was begging to be made. I don't know whether to be proud or shocked by the other guys, that it took this long for it to happen.

Good on you though. You win the internet for the day.

They’d want Collins, not Nurk imo. CJ, Collins, and a couple firsts? That’s probably our best offer and close to what Toronto gave up for Kawhi.
If our Big 3 was Dame/AD/Nurk we would be immediate contenders.

There is more and more talk that Anthony Davis will be moved either this trade deadline or off-season. Most of that has been to the Lakers but ESPN radio had the Blazers as 1 of 6 teams with the assets to move for the super-talented but oft injured Pelicans center.

And not that it carries weight, but AD is one of Dame's closer friends outside of the Blazer roster. It would take something like CJ/Nurk/Aminu+ and at least one first round pick...for something like Davis/Hill but if you have even the slightest chance to team AD with Dame, you do it.

If that were to somehow happen, watch the other players that would suddenly be willing to play in Portland.
What on ESPN radio? Who said this?

Likelihood - very low. But if he really tries, that will come out somewhere. I'd like to at least hear about that.

Get Davis alongside Dame, and I could totally complete Portland's big three.

Pssst, you're no longer considered a "big" NBA level player. It's why Houston can't even trade you with your minimal salary. Good luck in your future job.

these threads jinx any chance we get from landing someone.

not going to happen.
