The AD to Portland trade thread....with absolutely no fiber whatsoever

these threads jinx any chance we get from landing someone.

not going to happen.

Well it's obvious that the reason players don't sign with Portland is because of how fans are on this message board, so anything is possible.

IFFFFF somehow NeO could pull off getting AD, I'd be almost as excited to see who would want to come play with the 2 of them.

Does it even matter though? I mean, say Neil calls them up and offers CJ, Zach, Simons, and 3 #1s. Do they even consider it? I doubt it.

In the theoretical world where they decide to trade him? Yes.

Yeah we're never going to get Anthony Davis. But now that there's a thread on here (even if it has no fiber) some people will start to get their hopes up and then when it doesn't happen they'll inevitably blame Olshey for not getting it done. As usual.

I wonder if the people not wanting to trade everything now and in the near future for Davis are the same people who think Melo is a good idea?

And 2 #1s to the Pelicans. If they decide to trade him I’d think that gets us in the conversation.

I don't know if LA can really. They don't have a big on his rookie contract with the upside of Zach and LA has no one who is an established scorer like CJ. The truth is CJ and Zach plus 2019, 21, and 23 first rounders should get it done. I just don't know if Neil would pay that ransom with the possibility that Davis walks after a season and a half.

This trade gives the Pels a new skeleton to build around. Ingram\Kuz\Hart are all ~23.
Zach is not that good and will never be a star, CJ is a bit too old to build around. They need like 3-4 years to stink while they accumulate enough stars around that skeleton.

Watching the Pels. Man how the hell did we get swept by this team just 7 months ago?

We thought Dame had no help, but AD needs to be superhuman for them to win.

When their best players are all healthy, they're still a very good team.

Their depth is a bit of a mess but that matters less in the playoffs.

The other side of that is this. NO’s job is making the Blazers roster better. Sure I know he’s not getting AD. He’ll need to eventually make some moves. To get better players...

lol. That's because it wasn't a big trade. It was a trade so we didnt have to pay Plumlee.

But, you know, details and such.
Kingspeed loves questioning everyone else. "Toronto got blown out, are they trash? Everyone said that about the Jazz game."

"Why do people say we never make big trades (references the 1 meaningful trade weve made in 4 years, and it was for a backup big)"

Could add but too lazy.

Don't forget Stauskas. Now that Lebron has opened the door for players to go around and recruit other players we might as well start sending out Dame since N.O. cant do it.

Which brought us our best big since... Zach Randolph? Nurk is really good.
I like Nurk but he is not a superstar player.

Most teams in the league never trade for superstar players... Olshey traded for Chris Paul in his prime. That's probably a better trade than all but 3 other active GMs have ever made.
