Our bench is seriously sucking. Depth was supposed to be a strong point, but every time the bench comes in, the other team seems to go on a run. Theories?
My suggestion: too many one-on-one players. Crawford and the Rhino are key culprits, but Nolan Smith isn't exactly Ricky Rubio either. The only player who plays a team game is Batum, and he suffers because all the others hog it.
Suggested move (short of blowing up the team): switch Crawford and Batum to the starters and Wallace and Wesley to the bench. Oh, and acquire a vet backup PG, preferably one who plays D. Then our bench could be a defensive force instead of a sieve, and Crawford wouldn't be hogging the ball.
Alternatively, if Batum was the main ballhandler in the second unit, I also think good things could happen. But it might be that his handle is just too shaky.
