The Case for Tobias Harris

What RFA's have left teams so far? Are teams waiting for the signing moratorium to be over to make offers to Harris, Kanter, Reggie Jackson and Pat Beverley?

Was just pointing out that Green, Leonard, and Middleton all got paid. Correct that no RFA's have left yet. With the crazy money going around Harris should be a no brainer.

If a team makes an offer to one of the players you listed, my guess is that it happens after the moratorium.

Harris is a NY guy and was praying that they would give him max so that ORL wouldn't match. I not entirely sure he would even sign with us if we give him max. He is an East Coast guy through and through But some people just don't understand they can get a on a plane with that kind of money anytime they want...

Exactly. I'm sure he would listen to a Max offer from us but unless no one else came close, I doubt he comes this far West. He certainly would fit the age/direction Olshey seems to be going and would add shooting and some toughness. I think he'd be a very good fit here but doubt it happens and who knows if NeO is even considering an offer.

Teams are waiting for the Lamarcus and DJ frenzy to end and so are the agents.

A quick look at the highlights for Harris on you tube and one thing that stands out is appears that he has a game mid range game which is something we havent had a lot of. I would love to see some stats to back up my eye test.

No teams want their money tied up in a contract offer that they are unsure will be matched. The league shortened the matching period from one week to three days at least. Since nobody can sign contracts until the 9th, I guess the wait for Blazer fans will drag on a while.

Harris attacks the rim and looks to slash first when he has the ball. He's the anti-Batum. Reminds me a bit of a poor man's Paul George.

Except he plays no defense

Exactly. Almost everyone wants Harris, he will get his max deal soon enough. If Neil thought he had a realistic chance he would do it. More than likely our best bet for using our cap space that everyone thinks is worthless will absorbing a contract.

He's a blackhole but he's young enough to be molded.

Fwiw -- It would take the max to make Orlando pass.

If you go this rout and we do lose LMA you start Aminu at PF.

He would be a perfect contrast to Aminu and a floor stretching forward. Wish he could handle a little better and isn't much of a passer but that is what's left. Defense with this roster will be more of a scheme thing rather than individual excellence as possibly only Aminu and Crabbe would qualify as above average defenders.

I actually think Crabbe is about as good as Batum when you add up all his pros and cons:
He is a better shooter, the same defensively but cares more, same hustle more or less, not as good controlling the ball (that's not his role anyway),cheaper.

I think the moment LMA makes his decision, several teams will start targeting Harris. Hope we are in the mix.

He only averaged 1 more FGA per 36 minutes than Matthews, who was our 3rd wheel last year, and he converted a good. 50% from 2, 36% from 3.

Offering the max to Harris is officially giving up on LA; having already signed Aminu and Davis, we don't have enough cap space with LA's cap holds to offer Harris. However, if LA officially agrees to terms with SA or PHX, I think it's likely that Olshey will be offering max to Harris shortly thereafter.

We should offer it now if we're going to do it, and get it over with, as to whether Orlando matches or not.

Yea, it's also giving up on Lebron. If we sign Harris we don't have the cap space to sign Lebron.
Come on now, LA is gone. We offered him Monroe as a running mate and he went to silly meetings instead.

Yeah, 'cause that's TOTALLY comparable.

Dame wouldn't be flying down to LA if we weren't still tying to keep him. Until it's official, Neil isn't going to do anything to eliminate the possibility. Is that really so difficult to grasp?

Think of it this way: LMA is already jealous of Dame and all the attention he is getting, do you really think he will re-sign after their conversation and make Lillard the big hero?

HELL NO!

D69 and I were talking about that very thing last night. LA's return would be celebrated but Dame as the rescuer would be celebrated even more. Not sure LA's fragile psyche can handle that.

He looks shy and humble but he suffers from the Kobe-complex. He wants to win a championship but he wants all the credit and all the spotlights for himself.
Should've pushed more microphones onto his face after each game.

Its interesting that no one has signed a RFA to a contract yet
Doesnt do any good. They cant sign an offer sheet yet. Have to wait until July 9, and then the other team has 3 days to decide to match.

Give him more money than he deserves. That... is the NBA trend in 2015

Wow, this sounds like a rehash of 2 Samuel with LA as King Saul and Dame as David. The narrative fits really well.

Trade for DeRozan. Sign Harris. Call it good.

Dame
DeRozan
Harris
Leonard(?)
Plumlee
