Hmmmmm. If I were him, I'd just wait a year and sign a huge contract in Texas with Dallas. KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!!

Trading Aldridge for the #1 and players like Anderson Varejao, Tristan Thompson, Jarrett Jack, Dion Waiters isn't as big of step back as some make it out to be.
Lets say the trade was #1, TT/Jack whoever we take at #1 even if they come out and play really well we are going to be fighting for the 8th spot and our ceiling will be dictated on how quickly and how well that #1 pick develops. There is a very good chance that player doesn't' even turn out to be as good as LA.
Before I comment, is Pelton an idiot or not? I can never remember who the forum has decided to bash.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Mediocre Man again.
It isn't a step back. It's three steps, a handspring, and a little hop back.Trading Aldridge for the #1 and players like Anderson Varejao, Tristan Thompson, Jarrett Jack, Dion Waiters isn't as big of step back as some make it out to be.

Not exaggerating a bit. We're climbing the ladder, and we're on a higher rung than we've been on for a long, long time. There's no logical reason to climb back down the ladder because we think there might be another ladder somewhere nearby that might be almost as good.Quit over exaggerating.

Trading LaMarcus for a draft pick is a terrible, terrible idea.
None of us know. I do hope Olshey asks him.Not if he is going to leave us for nothing. That's the debate. Will he stay or go

Our shiney new tall ladders have a habit of breaking. Some of us are a bit ladder shy.You enjoy that tall ladder that is not quite tall enough to get the job done you need it for. Especially when that aging ladder cost 4 times as much as this new extension ladder that may be tall enough to finish the job or might not even reach as high as the current ladder.

Teams looking to make a title run aren't going to give up valuable players - they'll need them for their title run.If this were the Anthony Davis draft, you make the deal. Since there's no clear cut #1 right now, I can't trust the organization with their track record at picking so high if you are trading your best player.
If LaMarcus doesn't want to resign here, I think moving him at the deadline would get you the best value from teams looking to make a title run.

Lopez is why LMA rebounding numbers jumped so significantly this year. Lopez would box out, and leave LMA for the board.Another LA stat, people tout his rebounding numbers. But guess who is #1 in the league in contested rebounding%? Robin Lopez.
Guess who is number 164? LaMarcus Aldridge. Only 27% of his rebounds are contested. The people around him are guards and PFs. So while LA ranks 7th in the league in rebounding, he's 36th in contested rebounds.

his rebounding percentages actually went down this year.Anthony Davis' rebounding went up without Lopez next to him. Maybe trade RoLo for Greg Stiemsma? It would clear up more cap space, and LMA's rebounding would increase with the Steamer boxing out players instead of Lopez.

His per/36 went up, and his TRB% went from 16.8 according to Basketball Reference.

16.8 to 16.6. DRB and ORB% also went down(very slightly).
Also, if you only look at players who have played at least 41 games at 10 mpg. LaMarcus ranks 220th in eFG% Fucking Travis Outlaw is ahead of him. That's out of a list of 271 players. Not many below him are worth a damn on offense.
