Very good article, Thanks for posting it Tom...!

It's going to be quit along time, before we see another player in MLB, let alone on the Yanks, who exemplifies, Jeter's class.....and, can claim the quantity of success and/or accolades, of Our Captain. From his Playoff Kodak Moments, and World Series Rings.....on top of his individual achievements.

Derek's bio of great plays is a highlight film in and of his own. The Flip, the Dive, The Speech, 2000 A.S game MVP, 9 time A.S. Starter in 14 All Star Games total. Followed by the 2000 "World Serious" MVP Award, 5 Gold Gloves, 9 Silver Slugger Awards, 3 X 2nd in AL B'Avg. His 5 for 5 night, with a patented HR to garner Hit #3000. His approaching #6 on the All Time Hit List, displacing Cap Anson, Honus Wagner, Yaz, Molitor, Mays, etc....(Jeter's highlight accomplishments are never ending)..........et al.

Jeter needs only 12 more Runs Scored, to finish 10th All Time behind a list of HOF who's who of greats. 12 more & Derek displaces A-Fraud....now will someone please break both Alex's knees??????

A 2 Time Aaron award winner, 1 X Clemente, Gehrig, and Ruth Award winner...

All these accomplishments make Derek a modern day Hero, a HOF'er in our midst for the last few years. Nothing sweeter IMO, than watching a sure fire inevitable HOF'er playing in our present day midst. Great fun while it lasted.

IMO, Jeter got screwed royally out of the 06 MVP award by Morneau. When a team as the Twinkies had 3 players up for the MVP award, (morneau, mauer & Santana), that defies the criteria itself for a MVP player on a team. If a team has 3 players up for MVP, & the criteria is "if you remove this one player from the Team's Roster, they will not be the same without him, or perform in his absence"...doesn't that defy logic....IMO it sure did/does....a real flogging of rationale by MLB voters, dumb asses....

IMO Derek also got screwed out of the 98 MVP, by Juan Steroidio Gonzalez, and Nomar. Derek had a higher B'avg, more runs scored, a higher OBP, SB's, BB's, and Hits too, than Nomar, who had only had a higher OPS/Slg. pctg., HR's, and RBI's. I'm not even going into Juan's numbers, cuz he was a blatant effing cheat. Yet in both those years (98 & 06) Jeter was the hottest spark plug on the base paths and at the plate, than all other AL candidates, it wasn't even close IMO, taking all things into consideration, (without bias), Jeter got royally flushed out of both MVP titles.
