See I don't think trading him to a Nets team with Bridges, Cam Johnson, DFS, a guy in Simmons that Dame might think he can get to a better place, possibly Nurk if he goes with Dame and Royce O'Neal only increases Dame's chances at a title by 5%. I think that's a legit team especially with the ability to draw free agents that NYC has.
There are no guarantees that team would win it all but they would be a contender immediately... we don't have a realistic path to that right now, not if we are dedicated to seeing things through with Scoot and Shaedon and that's fine if that's what our team wants to do and it's fine if they don't say out loud that they want that. Dame will have to ask out and I think he will. I guess we'll wait and see.I just threw out a number. Maybe 10%? The broader point is that only 1 team wins it every year and needs to get consistently lucky to begin with -- regardless of what the team looks like on paper. To me its the difference of "really hard" or "really really hard".
If you're Dame, and you're weighing a slightly improved chance at a title and the potential to slightly tarnish your legacy vs. being the goat and still having an albeit-lower-chance at competing, it feels like there's at least a lot to weigh there, especially when you've started a family here... My perception of Dame is that he just wants a chance so I think this is the kind of thought process he is and has been working through.
It is almost like you are a heat fan, who showed up right after Dames interview and have constantly pushed trading Dame to Miami for garbageHerro, Jovic, Jaime Jaquez, 2 future 1st and maybe a couple swaps sounds like a good haul to me… then flip Herro for addition picks or a young frontcourt player
There should be downvotes for suggestions like this.Herro, Jovic, Jaime Jaquez, 2 future 1st and maybe a couple swaps sounds like a good haul to me… then flip Herro for addition picks or a young frontcourt player
Nope, just looking to move into a new era… super excited about Scoot/Sharpe duo!It is almost like you are a heat fan, who showed up right after Dames interview and have constantly pushed trading Dame to Miami for garbage

Especially if Dame ends up in Miami for some scraps.Nope, just looking to move into a new era… super excited about Scoot/Sharpe duo!
Lillard trapped himself in Portland with his massive contract. He's just gonna have to suck it up and play with these kids. Unless somebody buys him out?
If teams know that Dame is on the market there will be no shortage of GMs willing to take his contract. I just only see one team that has assets and would still be a winning situation for Dame after getting us those assets. There is probably more than that but the Nets are just very obvious. How many times has Chris Paul’s massive contract been traded?
Hmmmm..... interesting question.
I think Ant would accept a hybrid role before Dame would. I think Simons has a better contract to be a hybrid. If Dame goes, and the starting lineup is Scoot/Sharpe, I think Simons would make sense coming off the bench as the backup to both positions.
