"The Debate"

You can tell the talking points that each drilled on during their prep.

Obama is a very different guy when there's no teleprompter. Romney's used to standing on chairs and coolers and tables and whatever else is handy (no teleprompter).

I don't see Obama's making a case for anything, really. Again, Romney has the easier job.

And I do think Romney had a terrific answer to RomneyCare vs. ObamaCare.

A mistake I see Romney has made a few times is saying he agrees with Obama on some things.

Romney is much more well spoken than I anticipated. Also think he is doing a good job going with the flow of the debate . . . coming across natural and not stiff.

I think an economic debate is Romneys strong point (and Obama fed into it). I don't know what the other two debates are on, but I hope they're less boring.

Another rambling answer by Obama.

Another rambling answer by Obama.

both have provided rambling answers. That's the worst part about debates. Instead of asking 1 question and answering it, they ask multi-layered questions and allow non-answer answers.

you guys are being unfair. If he had had time to prepare... :devilwink:

Score, score, score, score.

The stats are not favorable.

Budgets reflect choices.

Someone handling Obama told him to say that as many times as he could squeeze in.

I think we can all agree on one thing.

Jim Lehrer blows as a moderator.

He's controlling the flow of the debate , thats for sure.

I think it's a safe bet that Romney won the first debate. I dont think it'll make a huge difference either way though, but Obama didn't sway anyone.

PapaG is probably sporting wood though.

BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

Yep. He tried his best to save Barry the Uh...uh...uh..., but Mitt just controlled the entire room and set the agenda for the debate.

Presidential, if you as me. :dunno:

why exactly is Lehrer doing a bad job?

The more I watch, the more I appreciate he's letting both candidates say what they want. he's warned them about how the time is running out. He's assured they talked about the major topics he had planned.

Obama is so intelligent he has to slow down and dumb down his sentences so we all can understand.

A mistake I see Romney has made a few times is saying he agrees with Obama on some things.

I disagree that that hurts him. Is it even possible that disagrees with him on everything? A couple of "I agree with yous" could only help him with the undecideds.

Picking winners and losers.

Someone handling Romney told him to repeat that as many times as he could squeeze it in.

he's let them both walk all over him.

Yeah he's getting steamrolled.

EDIT: Just as I typed this he stood up for himself.

I'm not a big Romney fan at all.

I just think Barry is a disaster and incompetent, and this debate didn't lessen that sentiment for me.

I think it's tactically a mistake and well known to be. It makes it look like "I agree with Obama, why change horses in mid-stream?"

Romney got Ronald Reagan into the debate and Obama got Bin Laden in.
