The December 15th Brook Lopez Trade

Lopez signed a new contract in July, making him the guy that cannot be traded until December 15.

Kaman and change for Lopez? Sign me up. Anytime you can trade guys off the end of your bench and add a rotational (top 8) player to your roster.....it should be a no-brainer!

Does this make us a championship contender??? Sorry, but no.

Brolo just can't stay on the court for a season...when he can, he's all star level. Folks saying he's old are wrong though..he's about Gerald Hendersons age

We can't even move a future 1st round pick until 2018 or 2019 ... That doesn't seem like a Olshey-type move to me.

Fuck that.

I'll take a 5% chance at Ben Simmons over 100% chance that this team never sniffs a title with Brook Shi . . . Lopez as its linchpin.
I liked this post then I remembered we're already better than last year so this trade could net an extra 100 wins. We'll be unstoppable.

If we can somehow still get Simmons, his rookie hazing next year will consist of pushing Brook Lopez in his wheelchair.

sounds like the premise of Rocky 7

Ohhh I figured out why we're doing this. It gets Brooklyn more wins and us more losses so we improve our draft pick.

Sounds like a decent plan; should work well.

Not sure why the teams would make this trade. Lopez wouldn't push Portland towards the playoffs. And if they do make the playoffs, losing this years pick (to the Nuggets) is potentially dumb.

Although it would be funny to read all the caveats attached to the pick. I.e., Portland trades their pick to Brooklyn, if it's after 4, but before 14...and if it's 14-30, the Nuggets get it. And then the Nets get the Blazers pick in 2018..blah blah blah.

Even if it doesn't include a 1st round pick, I'm not sure thats a trade scenario worth looking into.

You know, I was feeling good, happy with where the Blazers were heading

... and then I saw this thread.

I do not think we could trade 2016 in any way shape or form since Denver would possibly have our pick in 2017.

Leonard and Vonleh to the Nets for Brook Lopez.
