Re: The douche speaks

If you're wondering why he would complain about FTs, that is the only quarter where typically a fan of a losing team would get pissed off about. I don't really like to make excuses though, but you can see that based on this there really is nothing awkward concerning what he said. He was mad about the third in particular, it is a natural biased/true (depending how you lean, again I don't like to make excuses :) myself) statement. :dunno:

Were you the guy handing Kobe Bryant the Kleenex? I thought you looked familiar.

Re: The douche speaks

Kobe's body language spoke quite differently from his words. That being said, I think Kobe feels the reason the L*kers lost was he trusted his teammates too much. It's time for the old selfish K*be to return and try to win it on his own.

Re: The douche speaks

Kobe Bryant was the only player on the Lakers attacking the basket, thus he shot 12 FTs. Doesn't seem like a FT problem to me. It's his teammates who have the problem for settling for too many jumpers.

Also the Lakers refused to adjust to how the refs were calling the game. They kept on playing to close and bumping(Vujacic) and the refs called them on it.

Perfect. KoMe in the playoffs = first round exit.

Beautiful.

I think I owned up to the loss, so I don't know how this is relevant to me.

So you've never complained about FTs? It was nothing.

Bryant has trouble winning in Portland, and Phil Jackson is now afraid to visit the Rose Garden.

Rip City, baby.

Re: The douche speaks

I didn't really see the entire game, so I cannot comment that much. But I think there were some bad calls. I dunno how much it would've swung the game to our favor, but I'm sure it would've helped.

With that being said, I think overall the Blazers just wanted it more. Lakers have been playing sloppy for weeks now, and they better shape up for the postseason.

I never said anything about it, so calm down.

I don't see anything wrong with what Kobe said. Lebron complains about foul calls as well, he complains about getting called for traveling when he does it quite often (I'm sure you guys know). It's not really something I'm gonna crucify him for.

Re: The douche speaks

The whole free throw issue is moot in my mind. The only glaring mistake from LA perspective was Fish should have gotten one in the third, and there was one glaring mistake from PDX perspective when Rudy "fouled" Kobe. Both were bad calls. Aside from those two calls, I think the refs were pretty good. LA just did not adjust to how the refs were calling the game, and to the fact that there were not superstar calls in LA's favor like there often are.

I think both teams played well, but both teams are also capable of a lot more. I hope to get the 3rd seed so we don't face the Lakers till the Western finals, if we make it that far. To me, Houston has our number and I don't want to play them, after that, LA is still the best of the west till we prove otherwise. Getting beat in LA by too big of a margin for me to feel that LA would be an easy feat.

I think Bryant was just picking up the Phil Jackson role and trying to give his teammates an excuse for getting their asses kicked down the stretch by a much younger team.

Re: The douche speaks

I said it would've helped, obviously. I never said we would've beaten you guys, or used it as an excuse for losing.

Oh brother...

I didn't say you said you'd win it.

Good thing every call FOR the Lakers was bang on though right?

Re: The douche speaks

For as many free throws as Kobe thinks the Lakers didn't get and on their court they most certainly would've, our boys missed enough to almost make that a mute point! Wouldn't ya agree?

I was merely stating my opinion so you need to chill. 20 free throws to 37. Nearly double. Obviously the Lakers got the short end of the stick, but that's understandable. We're on the road and shit happens.

That being said, congrats on the win. I'm not gonna use free throws as an excuse, since I was pretty disappointed in how we played today. You guys deserved it.

Re: The douche speaks

Yeah, I agree there were some bad calls... as in Kobe being given free throws, and I emphasize the FREE..... dude was looked at wrong, and Blazers got called for fouls...

And I am stating mine.

Kobe whinging about foul shots is a joke. That is my opinion.

Seriously dude, you need to calm down, It's just a game.

Re: The douche speaks

It is just a game...... A GAME PORTLAND WON!!!!! YAY BITCHES!!!!!

Re: The douche speaks

Wow. Some very candid and honest comments by Rambis. [video=youtube;ipI4D0XnBew]

Re: The douche speaks

Douche...Is that a direct attack? Should that be allowed on this board?

Re: The douche speaks

Did Kobe bring up these numbers in each post game?

I bet these where all legit though.

In short... Man up. He seems to love the glory and can't take the fall. He was awful down the stretch and he's found a way to shift the blame.

Oh well, at least he didn't quit tonight.

Man you're so riled up huh? It was a normal star interview after the game.

“To us, they look like a playoff team every time we come up here,” Bryant said. “They’re extremely well coached, Brandon Roy is a fantastic player and they have great complementary players around him. They’re very good.”

man you have no idea. I am just sitting here smashing keys on my laptop.

It's just a thread on a message board. You seem really defensive.

No it just amuses me that you think he gave such a bad interview after reading the AP recap.

Re: The douche speaks

I'm sure a lot of Blazer fans would be upset if the entire third quarter had happened in reverse, I understand why it bothers him, though I don't make excuses for tonight we weren't better exactly. That's why I don't think it is a big deal, this is a norm in the NBA with complaining about FTs. And he should try to sweet talk his way into more free throws in the future, it's only logical.
i'm confused. the lakers were called for 6 fouls in the 3rd quarter(7 if you add in kobe's tech). the blazers were called for 5 fouls in the 3rd quarter. obviously that doesn't come close to telling the whole story, but it doesn't seem like there was a large difference in foul calls there.

and i love that when asked about the last 5 minutes, kobe singled out free throws as well. portland took 10 free throws in the last 5 minutes. 8 of them were from intentional fouls. the lakers(all kobe) took 3 free throws during that period(obviously none being from intentional fouls).
