The Durant Thread

Yeah he’s supposed to be this genius. But in reality he just glues together “super teams” together that don’t win shit and have to be disassembled in a year or two because the chemistry sucks ass or one of the stars hates the other.
I prefer Presti but he gets massively shit on too.

Exactly. That’s why your comment about Portland being too far from their families on the East Coast makes no sense. It’s not a matter of distance; it’s a matter of lifestyle and culture.
It can be both, or just one. They are not mutually exclusive.

Jake said Nets wouldn't have much interest in Ayton, but would start the discussions with Devin Booker.

Would Phoenix trade Booker for Durant?

Let’s try this once again. It’s not the distance. If it were, East Coast players wouldn’t be interested in playing for the Lakers, which they always are. And LA is about the same distance from the East Coast as Portland.

Ha, I am sure they would like to start the discussions with Booker. I hope they make that trade. Better than seeing Phoenix end up with both.

Yeah, Phoenix can get screwed like the Nets did.

I understand “Brooklyn won’t tank because it doesn’t have its own picks” but realistically acquiring a bunch of other teams picks might be the best way to get themselves out of this mess unless teams are going to offer young, rising stars.

At least getting other teams picks would add assets to their future endeavors.

How do you know every players situation? The Lakers aren't always an option for every player. Not everyone likes that lifestyle. Not everyone wants to move halfway across the country unless they have to.

I’d be trying to get Zion, Lamelo, Anthony Edwards or someone like that or just blow it up. Maybe Evan Mobley or Scottie Barnes.

Hmm...Durant to the Raptors for Trent/OG/Barnes? Would KD and Siakam work together?

What does @speeds think?

Nets apparently want players who can help compete right now, rather than draft picks or youngins.

Or like a Shaedon Sharpe...please?

So half of your tweet is accurate. Miami does have the night life
That's the important part.

but they also have more homeless per capita and far more homeless per square mile than Portland does. I get it that when a problem is in your face you think it's the worst it can get but what's actually happened is our city has just had an influx that is putting it closer to other major cities. Just want things to be clear.
I live in LA and drive by rows of camps every day to work. It's quite sad, definitely not just Portland. Portland does look pretty bad though because they don't have the shelters and housing that other cities do. It's become an extremely visible part of Portland. And downtown continues to be a shell of what it once was. But I'm sure we can agree, millionaire athletes don't check out the homeless per capita when deciding on destinations.

One of us here probably has a better chance of winning the lottery then Durant getting traded here.

Have you ever heard a player say he didn’t want to be drafted by the Lakers, or didn’t want to be traded to them, or thought LA was too far from home? I haven’t. In fact, it’s just the opposite. Players LOVE the idea of being a Laker. They think its glamorous.
