The fact is that we don't know what will happen. We don't know what information that's been put out there is legit and what is smoke. For sure some of it has to be smokescreens because Marks and Durant would both have to be foolish to be putting all of their cards on the table. I very seriously doubt that we get Durant because I don't think Marks saying he wants to contend next season is smoke, I think it's the truth... if it's not, we're in the running.

I'd still take him. If we could get him on a team with Dame, Hart, Grant and Nurk... along with whatever bench we built with the TPMLE and ring chasers. I would love to have the softest motherfucker in the league.

Oh I mean... yeah.

But that weak asshole is trying to go to Phoenix... or Boston... or Miami. It's just sad.
 
The Nets are going to get the trade from Boston that I wanted for Dame.... :sigh:
 
I would focus on Simmons. KD is 34 and likely as not to request trades again. Do it the old fashioned way and make a better *team*. fug em.
 
This is on Dame. You want to win a ring, you need to go out and get KD.

Dame/KD/Grant is a good core. It's really solid.

That's a championship team. That's better, imo, than Paul/Booker/Durant.

He's also a guy who had a ghost twitter account to argue online and used his main account to be an utter asshole to Michael Rappaport.

And this is after New Jersey paid him a WHOLE YEAR without him playing to let him rehab, paying him $37m. Then they gave him a massive extension.

He is almost 34 and is owed almost $200m.

And he's given them nothing. Except a trade request, I guess.

He's a good player, but what a headache. I can't quite feel bad for the Nets, but I hope he doesn't end up getting what he wants. What a prick.

Nets completely detonated their future for those three headcases. This is why you don't build around headcases.

Yes, indeed.

It's fascinating (and great for basketball, in my opinion!) that the Lakers have had such issues after putting together a "big three". It encourages teams to build, rather than just try to get three veterans and build around them... and I think that creates more continuity and better NBA landscapes.

100% agree. If Durant is in Portland, Dame should be at his side in his ear. Right Now!
 
I have to admit I’m really torn I’ve always wanted Dame to team up with another superstar. Problem is these young guys really intrigue me, Building organically like we did the late 80’s-90’s was so much fun. With Durant and Dame we’d obviously be a contender but both have maybe 3-4 good years left
