"if I don't spend my budgetary fiscal Dept. funds, I will lose some next year".

Ha!
Yeah, back in my earliest days with IBM in Portland. The end of the fiscal year sort of made the year for some of the Salesmen of Office Products.
All the State and City government offices cleaned out their funds, buying new IBM Typewriters. Holy hell, every desk had to have a new Selectric.

That always made me cringe but the Sales guys loved it.

Lately it has been cold enough, that I must use wood to heat the house. The Heat pump won't keep up. Will this be permissible?

Oh Man! I forgot, no gas for the chainsaw! Getting wood to burn will be a bitch.

I used to sell standby generators sets to the State of Oregon Dept. of Emergency Services and one year I was taken back when the PA took me for a tour of a few warehouses and I noticed that there were probably
150 or so sets of 12.5 to 20KW gen sets that have been stocked piled and some were 10 years old, at least.
I asked why he was putting out a bid for another 25 or so and I'll never forget his answer "if I don't spend my budgetary fiscal Dept. funds, I will lose some next year".
Rather than save the State a few bucks he was wanting to stockpile equipment at tax payers expense.
I know what you're thinking, did I go after the bid/sale? Actually I didn't and felt good about it. I eventually brought it up to a guy that replaced the buyer that retired and he too was taken back at his approach with procurement of equipment. The State eventually auctioned 0ff some many of the gen sets at what appeared to be pennies on the dollar. The new PA told me there was zero control over many of the department procurement programs and as long as you stayed within budget from year to year you got your increase without inventory audits and such. I was surprise at PA would tell me that.
I spent 35 years in the public sector and this type of thinking drove me up a wall. Early on in management I was so proud to stay under budget but finally got tired of getting my ass chewed for leaving money on the table. One year I spent 98.9% of a $3.6M budget and STILL got my ass chewed for not spending it all. We too often couldn’t “afford” what we needed but we sure could afford the extraneous crap. And this is why I no longer vote for anymore tax measures/increases.......

I covered 13 western states and western Canada and Ive never seen a State or Province with worse roads than Oregon. Sorry to say! and it should'nt be that way!

lol, she may have fucked up the Amazon HQ moving to her district and she's proud of it.

I have a lithium powerd Oregon 16" saw that I love.
Rangers cant hear ya cutting down firewood for the camp!

My son has one of those. Cute little bugger, great for camp fire wood.
I put 3 cord of wood in my woodshed last summer, use a 32" bar Jonserud and 18" Echo to get her done. Sort of a two for one job, clean of the woods here and store firewood for winter. I would still be working at it with the cute little bugger.

There's a practice that needs to be corrected. I'd like to see a politician run on that as part of his platform. There's a lot of money wasted in that practice.

Go to St. Louis or Chicago. You'd be amazed at how bad their roads are, at least as bad as the worst roads in Oregon.
I remember being in Alabama and seeing a pot hole so big that if you drove thru it you'd break an axle or something. Imagine hitting that pothole in the dark. Gotta admit, though, that Alabama's highways are pretty good.

Other parts of the country have much worse potholes.

I think her plan is quite fun.
I look forward to some answers.
Here is a quick list that has come to me in a short time.

Assuming we use no fossil fuel, specifically, Gasoline, diesel, and the JPs.

How will we run Tractors? Very hard to grow crops in large field without their help.
How will we get an airplane to fly?
What will we power ships? Return to the days of Sail?
Lately it has been cold enough, that I must use wood to heat the house. The Heat pump won't keep up. Will this be permissible?
I heard nothing about Nuclear Power. Is that not part of the replacement plan?

When does the culling begin? We can't possible feed the whole gang without some portable power!

I heard a democrat explain some of this tonight. I don't know who he was, nor do I know that he speaks for AOC. But he did offer some
corrections, his or hers, I don't know but here it is.

Correction, we will not stop using fossil fuels, the correction is we will still use them but we will make them obsolete.

That means Tractors, planes and ships can still work. Even your old car, but you will pay the price for that error.

Ok! this might be possible, but I do not understand the language.

How can fuels actually be obsolete, if even the brightest physicist/engineers can not make a plane fly without the fuels and we still need planes?
I think the same question also applies to Tractors.

I sort of fancy myself as a pretty good engineer, and I just can't come up with a way to make a tractor without fuel on board. An electric cord is just not going to due. A battery would have to be so damn big it would take another tractor to drag it around a large crop field. I had a job when I was 16, driving a D8 cat working a large wheat field in Eastern Oregon. The field was so large it took 13 hr to make the first pass around the outside perimeter of the field. There were 4 D8 Cats working together to plant that field. A tanker truck met us at the appropriate place each day to refuel the Cats and haul us drivers to the shower. I can replace the drivers with an autopilot , GPS and simple robot, but replacing the fuel is much more difficult.

I voted for a gas tax to fix local roads...problem is there aren't many local roads compared to the hiway that runs through town full of sink holes...I attended a town hall meeting to talk about it and while they were bragging about the gas tax I mentioned that the roads to all the gas stations were still full of holes....at the school I worked at there were certain people who loved to waste money and particularly paper..reams of it...and post its...etc...pens...they'd go through a paper mill in a semester for really nothing. Supply officer said she just loved spending other people's money....I stopped voting for taxes

The Chinese are already building heavy load electric trucks and farm equipment...they are trying to sell their new small electric trucks here for 5 thousand new....trade war won't let them yet
here's the new electric Chinese big rig

Years ago I was driving a chemical tanker truck with a drum boot on the back end for the company I worked for and was making a delivery of a drum of lacquer thinner to a customer that I had done several times before. I pulled into their back lot where the drum gets delivered and parked it
and went inside to get someone to approve the delivery. When I came back out the back end of my truck was sitting in a large hole and the frame is what kept the truck from going in even further. I was shocked as I couldn't figure out how I drove into that hole without knowing it. Once we took the time to look it over it was obvious that the under part of the parking lot had given way from the weight of the truck. They had just had the lot paved a week ago and obviously they didn't do a good job of filling in the lot before paving. The hole in your post, although bigger, reminded me of that time.

I a) think this is awesome. If only there were more facts involved. I loved the delivery.
I b) think she should be careful about going on tirades she doesn't know much about, because she didn't hammer the President and "Big Oil" there, she hammered Planned Parenthood and the ACLU. I don't think she realized it.
I c) think that it's pretty cool that Congresspeople are going after campaign finance reform. However, isn't she in her seat right now as a poster child for how money and establishment don't win elections? Does she not remember that one of the “big corporate funders” of the Crowley campaign was End Citizens United, the PAC working to “end Big Money in politics and fix our rigged political system.”?

They put up the video of his rebuttal...

Anyone else find it difficult to see running a 110KW tractor on a 10 gauge cord? Forget about the short tether.

That cord is coming off a spool that seems to be in the front end loader..not coming to the tractor but coming from the spool in the basket

If you read the article the cord is pretty clearly powering the tractor. And the tractor is driverless. All in all, pretty cool.

People need to wake the fuck up. You can joke and refuse to take her seriously, but from out of obscurity she suddenly "got elected" and is now in one of the most powerful positions of our government.

All of her supporters fall into one of 3 categories:

1. People who are amazingly ignorant of history.
2. Opportunistic Sociopaths.
3. Psychopaths seeking world domination (as a start).

Mein Kampf (German: [maɪ̯n kampf], My Struggle) is a 1925 autobiographical book by Nazi Party leader Adolf Hitler. The work describes the process by which Hitler became antisemitic and outlines his political ideology and future plans for Germany. Volume 1 of Mein Kampf was published in 1925 and Volume 2 in 1926.[1] The book was edited by Hitler's deputy Rudolf Hess.[2][3]

Hitler began Mein Kampf while imprisoned for what he considered to be "political crimes" following his failed Putsch in Munich in November 1923. Although Hitler received many visitors initially, he soon devoted himself entirely to the book. As he continued, Hitler realized that it would have to be a two-volume work, with the first volume scheduled for release in early 1925. The governor of Landsberg noted at the time that "he [Hitler] hopes the book will run into many editions, thus enabling him to fulfill his financial obligations and to defray the expenses incurred at the time of his trial."[4][5] After slow initial sales, the book was a bestseller in Germany after Hitler's rise to power in 1933.[6]

After Hitler's death, copyright of Mein Kampf passed to the state government of Bavaria, which refused to allow any copying or printing of the book in Germany. In 2016, following the expiration of the copyright held by the Bavarian state government, Mein Kampf was republished in Germany for the first time since 1945, which prompted public debate and divided reactions from Jewish groups.

The arrangement of chapters is as follows:
  • Volume One: A Reckoning
    • Chapter 1: In the House of My Parents
    • Chapter 2: Years of Study and Suffering in Vienna
    • Chapter 3: General Political Considerations Based on My Vienna Period
    • Chapter 4: Munich
    • Chapter 5: The World War
    • Chapter 6: War Propaganda
    • Chapter 7: The Revolution
    • Chapter 8: The Beginning of My Political Activity

    • Chapter 10: Causes of the Collapse
    • Chapter 11: Nation and Race
    • Chapter 12: The First Period of Development of the National Socialist German Workers' Party
  • Volume Two: The National Socialist Movement
    • Chapter 1: Philosophy and Party
    • Chapter 2: The State
    • Chapter 3: Subjects and Citizens
    • Chapter 4: Personality and the Conception of the Völkisch State
    • Chapter 5: Philosophy and Organization
    • Chapter 6: The Struggle of the Early Period – the Significance of the Spoken Word
    • Chapter 7: The Struggle with the Red Front
    • Chapter 8: The Strong Man Is Mightiest Alone
    • Chapter 9: Basic Ideas Regarding the Meaning and Organization of the Sturmabteilung
    • Chapter 10: Federalism as a Mask
    • Chapter 11: Propaganda and Organization

I guess, by repeating that after the quote, that you are telling us that you cannot remember the past?
