I have a question, is PES the north american/european equivalent of winning eleven? cause I am big fan of winning eleven for ps2 but I bought that game in Asia and I haven't been able to find it here.

It is known as Winning Eleven in Japan and Korea and formerly North America -- So yes, it is the same game.

Pro Evolution is now what it is referred to worldwide, excluding Asia.

Nice, I am gonna look into this year. I remember master league being fun and it kinda made up for not having licensed teams.

Yeah, it's a great game, it's a shame those EA bastards take all of the licenses. Hopefully PES will work something out with the future, but for now, it's no biggie.

only 3 more days. I've been hearing mixed reviews, but i find that the games with mixed reviews are the one I like best.

:O Holy shit. At first, this game was ok, but once you download the option files to get everything in (all the teams, leagues and proper player names, etc.) this game is fucking beast. Wow.

Ronan, which option file do you use/is best?

I think once this franchise gets all the licenses this game can be something really special. The option file took nearly an hour, but goddamn, this game is good. Master league is awesome.

Well I JUST finished the option file haha. Took a little over an hour and a dime.

From the reviews, apparently it's still easy to score (from what people are saying compared to the other PES years) but that can be changed by changing the difficulty. Sadly, its not quite as in-depth as FIFA when it comes to the info, but it's gameplay is far superior, and actually really fun to play.

And yeah, you're right, the graphics are ok (not quite on the same level as FIFA). However, the teams which ARE licensed and the superstars (Messi, Ronaldinho, C. Ronaldo, Kaka, etc.) are lifelike. Easily the graphics and player faces of the licensed players are spot-on it's actually kinda scary and MUCH better than FIFA's. Too bad they can't do it with all the players, which I believe they eventually will (once they start raking in more money and get the licensing).

Thats all i can say so far since I haven't finished a full game yet haha. One thing for sure though, if you put your time in with the option files (I chose WENB, tell me if there's one out there better), this game is really awesome. Obviously, there are some problems out there with this game, but i've yet to encounter them. I'll post more as I get more acquainted with this badboy.

Undoubtedlty there will be bugs and glitches but what game is free of those nowadays?

I can't wait to get my hands on a copy! Tell us the positives and negatives once you get more accustomed to the game.

- there's actually a real currency with master league (compared to the other years, apparently lol)
- loadup is a tad slow, but meh, i can live with that
- the commentary is on the same level as FIFA's (6/10)
- i'm still a little weirded out by how amazing the graphics are (i'm playing with Barcelona right now)

Does the crowd look any good? That always pissed me off in every sports game, not sure why.

Also, how is the dribbling and goals? Do they look good? Is it smooth?

- The crowd looks crap compared to FIFA's lol. It's not really a big issue for me though.

- Dribbling is fluid (a lot like FIFA in terms of the player response and reaction time though), but realistic

Uh oh, i've run into a little wall. I've copied everything onto my PES (the option files) but for some reason nothings changed (the names, the league titles, etc.) What did i do wrong? :S

Gonna make the MLS league later on when i'm done this game. i'm think 2-3 hours, and this game will be really good. FIFA should really have an edit mode.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. I spent a good 2 1/2 hours downloading option files and copying them (1 by 1, might i add), searched through for another hour finding out how to make it work, only to find out that it was for the UK version. FUCK.

Looks like i gotta wait for a North American option file to come out :(.

Alright, after playing the game for around 10 hours (no class today), and comparing the two, i've come to this conclusion:

FIFA: 7.5/10 (without all of their paid users rating it "zOMG 10/10!!1!1!!"
PES w/o option file: 6.5/10
PES with option file 8.5/10

It takes a lot of work, yes, but when its all finished and edited, this game is THAT much better than FIFA. The only problem is finding North American option files. Most are EU or UK and won't work on our American PS3/PES game.

yes, its that good.

They will release the updates soon, I'm sure M Two One will know where to look but he rarely posts anymore.

Niiiiice. I've looked everywhere, but nothing so far. Right now i'm just playing a temporary master league which is awesome (even w/o the names and licensing, but that'll make it better).

Good news, Ronan. While we wait for M Two One and his response, I found a PES 2010 Option file! I've tried it, and it's really.

Try that out when you buy the game. It has all the emblems, transfer, removed duplicates, and real names etc, but it doesn't have the Bundesliga (which we can create anyways), Championship, and MLS.

In all fairness though, no one ever makes MLS teams (for UK, EU or NA files). Can you tell me if you find any North American option files that has the championship, bundesliga, and MLS? If anything, I can TRY to make them, buuuuuuut i'll give it a week or two before i try haha. I know people are make North American-compatible PES 2010 option files right now, so i'll see what they come up with first.
