Almost everyone is our school wants to see the fight, but they want to fight without teachers so they wont get suspended. This Saturday, they will fight. I'll back him up and so will some of our other friends, but I don't know if it's enough cause they have people in their gang that are like juniors and seniors and we're only freshmen.

So I'm not so sure if I should encourage The Legend to be in the fight or not.

Man, Akuma owns Ryu anyday. One of my favourite people to use was Guy from Street Fighter Alpha 3 though. Damn, I miss my Street Fighter days.

As for the fight, I hate high school beef. If you guys are just niners and his crew is filled with people older, then there's a really good chance your entire crew is going to get jumped. Unless of course, these older kids are just pussies and don't really fight, but rather talk a lot, then don't worry about it.

If he looks weak, then expect people to pick on him all the time, but if he portrays a tough character, people will respect him more instead of bullying him. I just avoid (or try to) possible physical altercations altogether, but fact is, some times you cant simply just back down, or talk your way out, most people wont let that just happen.

The goal is to not get anywhere close to anything hostile like that. Sure, disagreements pop up, it's high school, but don't take it to the level where a fight is eminent. I really do hate this saying, because its simply not true, why do you think we are fighting wars? Because talking it out just doesnt work. I agree with you, try to avoid all violent conflicts as best possible, but its a fact of life, its not pretty, but violence is somthing we have to live with. What if some guy comes up to you on the street and just starts pushing you around? Are you just going to walk away? Well what happens when he follows you and starts swinging on you?

It's hard in High School in situations like this, Legend could potentially face furthur bullying, not only from the same kid who now knows you wont do anything about it, but from the other kids who now also know he wont do anything about it. If he tells the teacher, he gets labeled as a snitch, and gets bullied because of that, I know what its like to be in this situation, I'm sure we've all been in it before. It's just not as simple as 'walking away', its sad, but true.

Taliban/Al-Queda still hate America.
Palestine and Israel still fight over land.
Vietnam solved nothing.
Gulf War still kept Saddam in power.
Cout d'etat in a lot of African countries have not solved anything.

Being the aggressor never solves a thing. If its a matter of saving your reputation, you're going to eventually have to get priorities straight. Why waste time playing games with morons, just because you're afraid how people will think of you?

Now if its a case of self-defense (like if they purposely pick on you), then you're eventually going to have to take action. But, there's no reason to act prematurely, because you think that losing face will lead to bullying. Let people form their pointless generalizations and if some idiot takes it too far, you can show them how wrong they were to talk like that in the first place. NTC, i respect you as a jbb member and have never had any reason to dissagree with any posts you have made, but what you just said is so moronic its scary. do not compare petty little highschool "rep" wars with actual wars. you said talking it out doesnt work so thats why we fight wars? when has war ever worked, infact there are probably no cases of fueding countries trying to talk it through so your point backfires on itself. war should never be put in comparison to anything else because it is so far from anything that exists. i do however agree with your point about self defence, when someone continues to hurt you must defend yourself any means possible, but there is no need for the legend to resort to violence because this guy has talked **** and not attacked him, until he lays his hand on you, you should not instigate violence. ive learnt this first hand, i live in an area where i get provoked everyday almost, sometimes you have to fight to keep from being seriously injured, but to fight for a reason such as legends is stupid and moronic. if this gang comes after you, run, dont protect your pride because you will end up in hospital with a stab wound in your leg, i know this first hand so beleive it, it happens. violence solves nothing, ignore the guy and make him look like a jerk.

not true at all, im 16 and a junior in high school, im like the average kid in my school i'm not a nerd not popular, i know like everyone but don't really talk much, anyways i've gotten involved in situations twice, one this kid hit me i patted him on the back walked away the kid looked liek a dick no one said anything to me, the second time this kid called me out and i said i have no reason to fight you and the kid kept getting mad and calling me out and i made him look like a complete dick, if your smart about things you can make the other guy look ilke a complete ass

What I said was, and I quote: "why do you think we are fighting wars?", I never mentioned anything about how War solves problems, I never compared School Yard fights to Wars, so where you got the aforementioned points from, I dont know, but I never said anything about them.

But while we're on the subject...

So let me ask you AKIRA, Why do you think we are fighting wars? I'll tell you why, because it isnt as easy as just "talking it out". Some people are stubborn, some people have disagreements over certain things, some people simply put, dont get along. These arent problems that can be soley fixed by talking things through, if it was that simple, there would have been no WW1, WW2, Vietnam, Gulf War etc. etc. Those wars began because talking things through failed. It's a sad reality, but some times violence is the only answer, even if it doesnt solve the problem.

I dont condone using violence as a means to get somthing that you want, I'm speaking solely from a situation such as the one this topic was started on. I think you have to be a complete idiot to think that talking will get you out of such situations, either that, or dont have a complete grasp on the harsh facts about Human Nature. We live in an extremely violent world, there are people out there that dont give a sh*t if you're willing to talk things through, in some places, you'll get killed on the spot before a challenge to fight is even issued.

Who cares if you get suspended? Walk up to him when he least expects it tap him on the shoulder and when he turns around pop him in the jaw and just start beating the **** out of him. If your scared of getting jumped be sure to get in a fight by teachers just knock his ass out then they will break it up.
