Or maybe he's less likely to go bomb or order drone strikes on a place he doesn't care about.
I'm not sure not giving a shit about the outside world is a really great qualification for president. Bombing might not be a good idea, but ignorance isn't a solution.
Personally, I'm willing to give him credit for knowing something about Syria and caring at least somewhat. You seem to have a low opinion of your Johnson.

Oddly, Aleppo isn't on CNN much, if at all. Instead, it's a 24/7 Hiliar political commercial.
What do you know about Aleppo?
Not a huge amount. I know it's a city in Syria, I know that Assad and others have been bombing the shit out of it, I've seen lots of pictures of rubble and bloody children. Beyond that - nothing.

What do you know about Aleppo?
Many politicians in that situation would pretend they were familiar with Aleppo and then pivot to a more comfortable topic. (“Aleppo is, of course, a very serious issue that as president I would seek to address. But I gotta say: My top priority would be stopping wasteful government spending. That’s really the greatest threat to our national security,” etc.)
The funny part is that that "quote" is indeed exactly the sort of thing a Libertarian would say. And it's stupider than saying "What's Aleppo?".

For you Gary Johnson fans, here you go.
You sure this is the guy you want?

Isn't that about what Bill Clinton got when Ross Perot ran?I've never understood the love for government, no matter the cost.
I don't know many Libertarians who are anarchists. Libertarianism is, in fact, a legal philosophy. There most certainly is a role for government, ideally, but it should not cause harm to some for the benefit of others. There are laws against crimes, and civil courts to resolve disputes.
The two parties have become so polarized that neither one truly represents the will of the people. The polls say the country is going in the wrong direction. The polls say the people want what the Libertarians offer, but they don't get to hear from the Libertarians proper. That is, fiscal responsibility and social freedoms.
Johnson is at 8.9% today. He has been in the ~7% range until the past few weeks. He's polling over 10% in several of the higher profile polls, and 9% in several others.

It's remarkable that we might elect a president with 42.3% of the popular vote. Not all that popular, really.

That quote isn't what he said.
It's the lefty writer's fantasy.
Sounds like a guy who doesn't want to be in Syria in the first place. Hillary wants to create a no fly zone (bomb them to shit) while Russian forces are on the ground. As the election draws near I'm leaning more and more his way. Jill Stein has been off her rocker lately.
The questioner is an idiot IMO.
Isn't that about what Bill Clinton got when Ross Perot ran?
I know that. That's why I put "quote" in quotes.

Again: I know that.

Clinton was elected both times with < 50% of the vote. The only other president I can think of with those kinds of popular vote numbers was Woodrow Wilson.
Lincoln, Nixon in '68. JQ Adams only got 31%.
All told, there are 18 presidents elected with <50% of the vote. It's not so rare.
Although I guess it is more rare if you meant getting elected twice with <50%. Cleveland, Wilson, Clinton appear to be the only ones to do that.

So it's not what a libertarian would say.
The libertarian didn't say it.
Yes, the libertarian would say "And what is Aleppo?" That has already been established.
Yes, I know that. For the third time.

TWICE, barfo.
Clinton got < 50% TWO times.
Wilson got < 50% TWO times.
