The Gay Parenthood Dynamic - Question

You talk as though being gay is like being Black or any other nationality. It maybe genetic; but it isn't a generalized "Self" like you mentioned. Looking around my area and through my gay friends; there is clearly a lifestyle. They tend to migrate in specific communities and tend to share a lot of the same values. There are differences, but it would be more like the difference between a republican to a democrat.

So it's a choice IMO, and I'm fine with that choice. Just like one chooses to be a republican because it is the best choice for the generalized views.

Are you referring to this post? Did you read the part when I said "It maybe genetic; but it isn't a generalized "Self" like you mentioned". Also, I referred to the choice being made once one realizes they are gay. Just as one would realize their views best fit a Republican view. They choose the life they live after they realize who they are. Being gay, then migrating to gay communities is the choice.

Do you get it now?

I'm flattered to be liked by you as much as you like your daughter. You've changed your tune now though. Initially, you were saying that being gay is a choice. Now you are not. Thank you.

Dude I never said it was a fucking choice man! I said the lifestyle is the choice. Entirely different! Read my post above! OMG, I forgot how hard it is to discuss things you disagree with. Hahahaha

Bullshit King, and sorry if I'm offensive. And I didn't say that all gay people are the same! Stop putting words in my mouth.

Show me the clinical data that proves being gay is genetic? There are no gay woman or men in my family for many generations, yet my daughter and niece are gay. Guess it was a hybernated gene or something right?!?! Stop acting like this forum is against you because you are gay. Frankly, I think it's cool you are open about being gay. I take no offense to it, and you've met me in person. Did I act like some homophobe to you? Now your opinion on me is offensive.

Signed,
The truth.

In these posts, you seem to be saying that being gay is a choice. If that's not what you're saying, then good.

I think it's "gay lifestyle" to brag on a message board about having sex with an NBA player.

But that's me.

Anyhow, this WikiPedia page talks about the genetics of homosexuality.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biology_and_sexual_orientation

I have no doubt it's biological. The only environmental thing about homosexuality is that many fell forced to hide it and lie about their true nature.

Okay this was a stupid post and I apologize for saying this. Let my emotions get the better of me. The other wasn't intended to be what you thought; which I clearly explained.

Forgive me?

But there is no gay lifestyle. Some are single, some are married, some in open relationships, some live in cities, some live in the country, some have sex, some don't, some work in the arts, some work in corporation, some are teenagers, some are senior citizens.

Do you understand how it is offensive and ultimately destructive to say there is a "gay lifestyle" that people choose?

Being a Blazerfan is a type of lifestyle too. And they have just as many differences in fans as the ones you've mentioned.

Listen to what I'm saying about your "gay lifestyle" thinking and yes.

Yes I already apologized for that. My bad.

The Blazer fans on this board have a bazillion very different lifestyles.

See I disagree. And how my disagreement is made; is when the Rose Garden crowd unit together and root for their team. Yes there are different opinions; but they share the same main value. That is Blazer success.

Now let's go into a place called "Koreatown". Majority of the Koreans all have "different views on certain topics" but they all share the same views about their culture; which is why they choose to live in a area that is filled with their culture.

But if you take offense about it being a lifestyle; then I will just agree to disagree then..

Another definition of gay lifestyle.

Gay fellow marries a woman, has kids, acts straight. That's not gay lifestyle.

He comes out, leaves his wife, moves in with his boyfriend. That's gay lifestyle.

you seem to enjoy just changing the definitions of words for the sake of argument.

I enjoy you seeking out my posts for errors.
I'm not "seeking out" your posts. I'm reading a thread. You're posting it in. Just yor odd definition switch of the word lifestlye is...amusing, I guess.

While I lean the way of being gay is not learned or developed, I still haven't completely decided.

That being said, I think the most important thing a child can have is loving parents. Is a child better in a home where a man and woman fight all the time better than with two men or two women in a loving environment? No

I do think it's very important for a child to have both a male and female role model however. But that doesn't need to be "mom and dad"

"Lifestyle" is totally irrelevant in this matter.

It's 2012 and many GOP's continue to believe that gay/lesbian people chose to be that way. "It's not God's way."

The party is about 60 years out of touch.

That's neat man!

Many, but not all.

Out of touch isn't exactly the best way to put it. "Most" republicans believe in Christ. The Bible is clear where it stands on homosexuality, so to say the party is out of touch is basically calling the Bible false.

The Bible supports slavery and there are plenty of rules in the Bible that most Christians don't follow. You can be a Christian and out of touch.

The bible doesn't even mention Homosexuality as one of the 7 deadly sins!

By the way, I think those people who want gay marriage don't realize how good they have it. I'm certain that gay divorce will suck as much as straight divorce does. ;)

The Bible is clear where it stands on homosexuality

tell me you dont really believe this lol, because the bible is "clear" where it stands on beating off (death), cursing at your parents (death, hell) wearing two types of fabric (hell) shaving (hell) people who have mutilated genitals (hell), people who are blind (hell)

oh and if a mormon comes to your door, KILL THEM

Deuteronomy 13:6-10

If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), do not yield to them or listen to them. Show them no pity. Do not spare them or shield them. You must certainly put them to death. Your hand must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people. Stone them to death, because they tried to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

just want to make sure you believe in the whole bible and not just one stupid part, because that would just be completely fucking stupid

Why do I feel like the parent(s) who went out for the evening and told the kids to not tear up the house while we're gone....then come back to something just short of Risky Business?
:)

Use Old Testament as a nice non-fiction book. Use New Testament as the guide to life.

Where in the new testament does is SUPPORT slavery?
