The Gender Pay Gap- Do you believe in it?

White people getting paid more for the same job is probably true though tbh

I believe it exists, but I believe that the majority of it is for reasons tangential to gender, ie, women tend to be less willing to negotiate higher salaries, tend to be less likely to aggressively pursue raises/promotions, tend to be less likely to seek out new jobs with higher salaries, tend to be more willing to exit the workforce for several years for child-rearing purposes.

I also believe that there are some gender-biases that contribute to the gap, such as men having greater opportunity to network with other male decision-makers, "hard-ass" attitudes being more readily accepted from men than from women, or retention incentives being less-often offered to women because they tend to be more loyal.

I believe these "factors" are taken out of play when discussing this. They state that two people a man and a woman, with the same circumstances, training, willingness to work, etc get paid 23% less if ur a woman. At least that's what the click bait-y headlines want you to assume.

It exists for reasons that shouldn't be argued anymore.

Guys have jobs like construction, and different jobs that are much more dangerous. Women spend a lot of time in offices, sales etc.

At every job I've been in (accountant) I haven't seen a woman paid less than a man for the same job. Could it still exist? Maybe I guess because a self employed person can pay someone whatever. But in this day and age I find it less likely.

Also, women generally leave the workforce awhile for kids, so they end up with less experience. It's not necessarily a "gender issue" imo.

And this may sound like a generalization, but it's not. Women are by nature more emotional. Most guys imo are cool with whatever happens in an office setting
If they get beat out for a promotion, they internalize and think about what they can do better. Some.women create chaos, blame gender, and hate that person from.that point on. It's hard to deal.with that on a day to day basis.

It's bullshit math, pushed by victimhood-peddling rabble-rousers.

Male-female pay gap remains entrenched at White House

The White House has not narrowed the gap between the average pay of male and female employees since President Obama’s first year in office, according to a Washington Post analysis of new salary data.

The average male White House employee currently earns about $88,600, while the average female White House employee earns about $78,400, according to White House data released Tuesday. That is a gap of 13 percent.

In 2009, male employees made an average of about $82,000, compared to an average of $72,700 earned by female employees — also a 13 percent wage gap.

There will always be things you can point at.

The sad thing is, if a guy pointed at the opposite, where women in an industry made more for the same amount, they would just get laughed at.

I've been at a few jobs where women were the majority of the seniors and higher ups, and haven't once cared or thought anything of it.

I thought it was funny because... you know... Obama.

Asians are workaholics. Probably make more despite racist cracka america.
True. But they always have to be #1. My step sister in law who is vietnamese (my stepmom is vietnamese) always cries foul if I have anything good happen at my job and says I get such and such cause I'm white. Not the case. I'm a workaholic too.

Lol you don't need that kind of negativity in your life bro.

if any gender could do the exact job and be paid less, all profit minded companies would hire only that gender

Its not a gender gap problem. Its a cheap hire and company relocation to India to do a job an American women could have done.
Women cops will make money as cops have instant union arbitration to guarantee a great salary and retirement. In the town I work in a lieutenant makes 110K plus. That blows.....

Does the 77% calculation include compensation in the bedroom?

Is your stepmother-by-blood related to your stepsister-in-law?

I wrote a paper in my last English class after my feminazi instructor disagreed with me that the gap was a myth. To be a fucking ass hole I included stripping as a prime example of women killing men in average wage. It was hard to find evidence but I managed to scrounge up some numbers, then I stated I wish I could get paid to take my clothes off, chicks have it easy.

I also dove into the nursing field. Female nurses make up like 90% of the industry, and male nurses are almost 50% nurse anesthesiologist who make more than double the average nurse. So I pointed out that the small sample size of male nurses concentrating on the higher paying field was just a good trick to claim "male nurses on average make more than female nurses." Yes, because you have 80% of nurses who are female who are just basic nurses who do nothing but hand out meds the doctor orders, dragging the average down.

She really didnt like my paper, she made counter points based on emotion (surprise surprise being a woman) and offered no statistics. She then tried to tell me that census.gov was not a reliable source cause I didnt find it in the school library.

So I simply asked if I should choose another topic for the sake of my grade or if she could "man" up and grade it unbiased. I got a B, im pretty sure she had extra wine on girls night that week.

"Average"

Let's say for math sake there are 100 employees 50 men 50women

Obama makes 4million a year

All other 99 employees make 78k

Average woman makes 78k

Average man makes 156k and some change

Zomg men make double what women make! Yay for averages!

I fucking hate liberal morons

Bro, did you marry your sister?

I have seen similar click baity headlines. I assume there are actual statistics to support this 77% thingy? Someone teach me what the fuck is going on.

It's cool man, you probably saved a shitload on the wedding invites.

You probably got her wet as fuck, bro.

Well, to be fair.... Female strippers make more money because they generally attract a male audience, which, in the basis of all of this, make more money than their women counterparts that go to male strip clubs (and are spending their lesser salaries, or their hubby's money).
