So, supposedly the Bucks are on notice that if they don't look like a contender in the first third or so of the season, they will have to trade Giannis. New York supposedly has dibs, but can they offer the most? I kind of see KAT as a negative asset, and he would be their main piece. I don't foresee (or even particularly want) a Giannis-Dame reunion, but I'm curious what would be the best offers out there. Houston? Toronto? I mean, New Jersey could probably offer a really good package but Giannis would probably veto that trade...

Actually the Jazz or Thunder could put together a monster package for Giannis but I'd bet on him landing with the Knicks as he seems to want to be there....

I think Giannis and Dame would work better under Billups than it did under Rivers.

To be honest though, all that is going to matter is if Giannis and Dame want a Dame-Giannis reunion. If one of the two does not - it will never happen. If they both want it - maybe it will.

Not sure we would be at that level of contending that Giannis would want. We do have their picks to dangle, and we also have some of the best young talent which could tempt MIL. I’m not sure I would write Portland out, could be interesting to watch it unfold.

Giannis is the anti-ball movement guy. If he's coming in, they would have to change the style of play that they've been putting in for several years now. I don't think he'd be a great fit in OKC either.
If I'm giving up that much for one guy, I want him to still have way more years than Giannis.

I’m probably in minority but I like what we have building. The journey is the fun part for me, seeing players grow and watching the team go through the trials and tribulation is my enjoyment.

That said I wouldn’t hate it

Those Buck picks and swaps would hold a lot of value to Bucks. Might cost a little less for us than other teams

I think that song and dance has been played and danced out. Giannis will want to go to a legit contender. We would have to be in the playoffs for him to even consider it and making the playoffs this year is a big if. Even with my optimistic opinion, I know its not a lock.

Agreed. And agreed about OKC. They've certainly got the assets but I don't see them being interested. They did that once with Paul George - never again.

Put me down in the category of hoping he forces his way out of Milwaukee and the Blazers can pick up some nice pieces as a 3rd party in exchange for giving the Bucks back some of their draft capital.

It's funny: whatever the Blazers do will almost certainly affect what the Bucks look for in return for Giannis. If the Blazers keep the Bucks picks, then the Bucks will want at least one very good player for Giannis and try not to tank. If the Blazers give back the Bucks picks, then they'll go full tank and prioritize draft picks. This suggests that the Bucks will try to involve the Blazers.

Fuck them. I want the picks.

I'm guessing it is less than 50/50 that Giannis is with the Bucks by the start of next season, as as mention in the above video, the Blazers do hold some leverage with either themselves or whatever team ends up making a deal.

The Blazers could do it with Grant/'Tisse/Scoot and then it would come down to how much of their own draft capital the Bucks want back in the deal. I might give up a swap, not sure about both swaps and certainly not both of the swaps AND the pick. The more they get back, then 'Tisse gets replaced with RW3.

BREAKING from Shams Charania of ESPN - Giannis Antetokounmpo is meeting with the Milwaukee Bucks to decide his future with the team - including a possible Giannis trade and trade request.

Read a few trade scenarios on twitter. I don't know which fan base is more delusional, Portland fans or Laker fans.

Best offers the Bucks could feasibly get:

A Jalen Duren package from the Pistons (unlikely, except they didn't extend him and now he's gonna be expensive, plus is the leap real?)
If the Rockets offered Amen Thomson in a package, Milwaukee would very probably bite
KAT from the Knicks (throw in Anunoby)
??? from Toronto (they'd want to hang on to Barnes, but he doesn't really fit with Giannis)
A Bam-centric package from Miami (or a three way with US, where we get Bam and Milwaukee gets its picks back)
A Paulo Banchero package from Orlando (this intrigues me)
A D'Aaron Fox and picks package from San Antone
Shit-ton of picks from OKC (not gonna happen)
Jalen Johnson and Trae Young from Atlanta

I don't think Giannis wants to come West, though - his family decamped back to Greece, so East Coast teams are probably his fave choices.

Bulls would be interesting

I’d offer the Bucks all of their picks back + one of our 1RP for Matas

My issue with trading for Giannis, and it's not a talent issue, it's that for them to realistically get him they'd have to give up any of the help that the team would need TO make it worth trading for him.

The Bucks aren't going to take Grant and table scraps, they'll want Sharpe, Scoot, picks, and probably would want Deni too.

If they can get Giannis without giving up Toumani and Deni they should absolutely do it. Deni gives Giannis a second star to work with. He's young enough to be good with Giannis and after Giannis.

If they have to move Deni, then I wouldn't do it. Sharpe, Scoot, the picks etc, take them all.

Wouldn't give them Deni, I'd do Grant, Shaedon, picks and maybe one of Scoot or Jrue.

I don't disagree with you guys, but I don't think they'd be able to get him without over paying and creating a situation where they are no different than Milwaukee is.

Giannis, Deni, Toumani, Jrue, Dame, Clingan.

That's your core. Re-sign Thybulle and Williams. Get some depth on the free agent market now that you have a top 3 player in the league.

Sweepstakes postponed, Giannis exits with a non-contact calf injury after crumbling to the court :dunno:
