On an unrelated note, I would like to suggest a brilliant adaptation of the story "Oliver Twist", which aired on BBC One in 2007 (aired in the US in 2009). Directed by Coky Giedroyc.
It is one of THE greatest things on screen that I have ever seen in my life; movie or television. Ever. Absolutely BRILLIANT acting all around in that show.
Tom Hardy played a brilliant psychopath with a violent temper in his role as Bill Sykes. He used his past as a drug addict and alcoholic to form the character, and he was utterly stunning.
I'm fucking serious...his character was downright terrifying.
Another stand-out performance in this film was actor Julian Rhind-Tutt as "Edward/Monks". Wanna talk about a scumbag character....he nailed it perfectly.
Anyways...if anyone wants to see it, it can be seen here:

I'm not sure if that is one of two parts....when it aired here in the States, it was a two-part series, IIRC. However, that episode is listed there as 2 hours and 53 minutes, so that's probably the entire show.
This is well worth watching. It's not an action film, but I was just thinking about it, and was suddenly struck with the urge to write about it. So there you go. Enjoy.
