While I don't hope he gets injured, I don't care if he is a bust, just on how unprofessionally he treated his life in Portland. He lived 5 blocks from me, and as far as veteran teammates, Raef LaFrentz lived literally diagonally across the street from Greggers.

I know that's a truly evil thing to say and that is the 1st time I've ever said anything like that. It's just my frustrations talking.

Oden took a gigantic dump on Portland, and exited about as ungracefully as he could. Some people have a Feces Fetish, I guess, and still want to give this lazy alcoholic the benefit of the doubt. Hero worship never ceases to amaze me.

It's weird because Rudy at least played and tried to make the most of being in Portland. It was pretty obvious he didn't like it here; but he stayed as professional as he could and played even hurt.

And Rudy's comments weren't even as bad as oden, but he was talked shit about like he was some ungrateful piece of shit; while oden drank and blamed everyone else instead of owning up and fans embrace him? Yikes?!

Oden is a misunderstand genius picked #1 who has had his body betray him. Rudy was a late first-round pick who wasn't the All-Star talent fans thought they were receiving. Denial is an amazing thing to witness. What in the world did Oden do in Portland to make people still think the guy was serious about getting healthy and helping the team? He hasn't played a game in years!!! He may not be ready for the start of the season. How long does it take to recover from surgery? Or, has he had more surgeries, and since he wasn't in the NBA, he doesn't have to disclose them to teams due to HIPAA?

People here shit on LMA daily because "he doesn't want to be here" in two years (after 7 years as one of the best two Blazers since Clyde left, at least in terms of ALL-NBA and All-Star appearances), yet some of those same posters are still big fans of Greggers the Gimp.

Fuck them both. The nerve of Rudy trying to force a trade! After his injury he was done.

We've decided to hate all former Blazers. The only controversy left is which current Blazers to hate.

It's not that I say be easy on Rudy; but he at least tried playing and worked hard on the court.

Damn. Missed the ESPN special where he made The Decision.

Does anybody else remember the article on Roy/LMA/Oden while all three were filming a TV spot in LA, and they all shared a trailer during the day.

Roy and LMA used the time getting to know each other in a positive manner, and credited it to advancing their friendship, as well as the team. Oden spent the day sleeping in the bedroom.

I can't find it on the intertubes yet, but I'll post it if I stumble across it. Greggers was aloof and irresponsible from the get-go. The embarrassing ESPY nonsense really looks bad, looking back. Durant was probably in a gym somewhere working on his game while Greggers was partying with Elton John.

Here's a link to the article you're looking for:

No, Oden was praised a lot for his friendliness by Quick and the media. But late in his rookie year, when trolls like you started hating on him, Quick jumped on your bandwagon and wrote a mildly critical article. Oden clammed up to him in paranoia and permanently lost his smile to everybody. Negativists like you drove him to drink.

Roy said he had found Aldridge to be distant. They had played together a couple of years before they actually talked, in the incident you describe.

Repped if it lets me, since I rep you often. EDIT - You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to e_blazer again

Here is the sentence I remember...

Stuck together

Early in September, Nike flew Aldridge, Roy and Greg Oden to Los Angeles to shoot a commercial featuring LeBron James.

But the day didn't go as planned. There were delays. Postponements. More delays.

The three Blazers were housed in a trailer. Oden, a notorious sleeper, spent most of the day napping in the back.

Aldridge and Roy watched "New Jack City," and found out they both revered the movie as a classic and that both could recite lines at a moment's notice. But after the movie was over, they were left with just themselves. Neither of their cell phones got reception.

The "Big Three" holed up together for probably the only time ever, and the entire article is about Roy and LMA, while Oden hides in the bedroom.

Who is/was Joel Odom, by the way? He must have been a freelance writer who sold this story to the Oregonian?

I don't hate Roy. He's my favorite Blazer of all time.

Shame on you for posting that drivel. That is compete and utter bullshit... Now that makes ME ill... If I could take rep away from you, I would..

Grantland story said:

You sound a lot like Greg. Wanting to blame others for his drinking. Here he blames his cousin's influence but to me, it's about simple decision making. Realizing you are man now, and tell your cousin that this is MY house and Ain't no parties goin' down unless I say so! But no.. He "got wrapped up in it too".

Those are GREG'S decisions....

That's what I'm talking about. You should be able to take rep away from people for threads that piss you off.

Great revisionist history going on here. He NEVER said he didn't want to be here and he ALWAYS did his best in rehab. But you guys can believe your made up stories if you want. smh

No. He was completely irresponsible. Does no one remember the time Greg Oden played pickup ball with Natebishop at 24 Fitness? He was supposed to be resting his fucking knee!

I don't hate Roy. He's my favorite Blazer of all time.

What, are you 12?

People forget how meh Oden was when healthy. Everytime he entered the game, he picked up two quick fouls and had to sit back down. When he got back into the game, we gave him the ball in the post and he got stripped. If you want to know what a once in a generation center looks like, look up David Robinson's rookie stats. And he did that after not playing any basketball for two whole years!

And David Robinson was in the Air Force. Why wasn't he drinking?

It's not about pissing me off. It's about posting DRIVEL... You act like you've never read the Grantland story jlprk...

Well he was in the Navy (hence the Admiral) but I get your meaning. My cousins are in Afghanistan. I'll bet they aren't drinking with BULLETS flying past their heads....

He went to Air Force Academy

Are we being serious here? David Robinson was in the navy, not the air force

I was reading about a different David Robinson. My bad. Point stands that the basketball player David Robinson was awesome.

That he was. Robinson and Rodman were my favorite players growing up. I got a David Robinson rookie card and he became my favorite.

WTF are you talking about right now? I don't like Oden... You just quoted something I said about Roy which was in response to jlprk saying that all former blazers are hated. This seems like it was meant for someone else... get your posts right.
