Forget LeBron James and Anthony Davis: Remember Friday for Dante Cunningham

But the story of the night might turn out to be the defense, specifically that of Pelicans forward Dante Cunningham.

Based on our video tracking, James was 3-of-17 for seven points when guarded by Cunningham on Friday, including 0-of-2 in overtime. James was 10-of-12 for 30 points when guarded by any other Pelican. Cunningham forced James outside. James’ average shot distance was 12 feet with Cunningham and six feet against other defenders.

James did his best to make Cunningham switch off of him. When that happened and a different defender rotated to James, James was 4-of-5 for eight points.

In James' incredible fourth quarter and during the overtime period, James was only 1-of-8 against Cunningham, with all eight shots contested.

We're good at drafting

RoLo looks like late-career Joel Przybilla - minus the shotblocking.

7 ppg | 6 rpg | 1 bpg | 12.6 PER | 48 TS%

Wes Matthews started the game 1-6 but then he went off. He has 22 points 5 rebounds 4 assists 1 steal and counting.

Wes Matthews has hit 9 threes and scored 33 points. I knew he'd be good for my fantasy team.

Holy shit, he's hit 10 threes! I wish I had watched that. Is 36 points a career high?

I just checked the Mavericks forum. They're LOVING Wes. They think he makes them a contender.

Barton: 14.3 PPG | 4.9 RPG | 41 3PT% | 22 PER
Nice. Arron Fuckin Afflalo.

As if Paul Allen didn't have enough reasons to be gun shy about trading young players. He may never deal one again if Barton blows up.

Hornets beat Heat 99-81 for third straight victory

Posted Dec 09 2015 10:33PM

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Hornets coach Steve Clifford puts guard Nicolas Batum in lofty company.

After watching Batum register a triple-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in a 99-81 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night, Clifford mentioned him with other exceptional passers, such as Tracy McGrady, Rafer Alston and Steve Nash.

"They're not going to just pass to a guy where (scoring) is going to be a problem," Clifford said. "That's how Nic plays. Watch him. The only time he looks a guy off is when he knows that's not a good option. That's how he thinks the game."

It was his Batum's fifth career triple-double, and it helped the Hornets (13-8) push a lead past the 30-point mark in the second half of the Eastern Conference matchup. Charlotte acquired Batum as part of a roster overhaul in the offseason, in a trade with Portland for Gerald Henderson and Noah Vonleh.

"I'm blessed they've embraced me," said Batum, whom the Houston Rockets drafted in the first round in 2008.

Hey - we could use a guy like that! If only the Hornets were dumb enough to take our scrubs like Henderson and Vonleh for him...

I like Wes...glad he came out of that 20 game slump he was in but it sucks that he did it against us

I'm happy for all ex-Blazers except LaMarcus, Damon Stoudamire, Ime Udoka (due to the LaMarcus connection) and Darius Miles.

Raymond Felton is having a great season but he's on my forever shit list as an ex Blazer...JR Rider is another one
B

Didn't really care that much about FelTank, but love JR Rider.
