"say[ing] ignorant things" is not the same thing as criticism.

Yeah well when it’s liberals deciding the definition of “ignorant” it becomes a relative term, like many of the other definitions they’ve deemed fluid. You know, things like “man” and “woman” that we just can’t quite seem to pin down or understand in any concrete way. The mysteries of science…

Ignorant has a very clear definition: uninformed. So, if you ensure that the statements you make about VP Harris are actually rooted in fact rather than just based on salacious, incendiary, unsupported talking points, you should be fine.

You aren't good at this arguing thing, are you?

Ignorant to me means deliberately uninformed. I mean, there are subjects about which I know little or nothing, but don't claim any expertise. I say someone is ignorant when they avoid learning about a topic but still opine or even say they know more than actual experts. Exhibit A: Trump
Or all the random dudes on Facebook who know more about infectious diseases than Dr. Fauci.

Ignorant has a very clear definition:

***followed by multiple people, including yourself, proceeding to provide their own differing definitions of the word based on opinions and personal anecdotes***

I fucking love this place.

this is the type of shit that will get me to mail in vote for harris out of spite

Conservatives are so goofy when they try to do identity politicking. You can criticize Israel’s policies without being anti-Semitic. I suppose the International Court of Justice ruling Israel an apartheid state was purely a hate crime and had nothing to do with criticizing their policy either.

I think part of the reason why these kinds of things go out is because they think it shows the hypocrisy (in their eyes) of the left.

I.e., how they think whenever someone on the left disagrees with them, they get called "racist" (etc).

The problem is when they say racist shit it IS racist. When they say sexist shit it IS sexist. But when someone doesn't blindly follow Israel, it's not because of antisemitism.

It's kinda like how when Trump (or others) lie about something, they don't just do a white lie...they do an outright easily disprovable lie. Like, over the top how can I take you seriously lie. This is the same. Instead of pointing out inconsistencies, they spew shit like this or that "tHe LeFt WiLl SaY lIkInG mTn DeW iS rAcIsT!"

The irony is the Republican party has embraced overt neo Nazis and anti Semites. Candidate for governor of North Carolina says Holocaust never happened and movies with Black characters are Jews taking money from Black people. Project 2025 aims to establish Christian fascist dictatorship that among other things replaced public education with Christian schools and requires business to close on Sunday.

when dealing with concrete pinning down someone might require zip ties...just sayin'

Been there, done that as a kid. Boy did that suck. It's almost as if we would have nothing better left to do than spend the day praying........

I said uninformed. @crandc simply added the word "deliberately". Nobody else gave any alternate definition.

It's really not a difficult concept.

This is correct - Ignorance in and of itself it's not necessarily bad - it's just something that is unknown or unlearned. Deliberate ignorance on the other hand is intentional deceit or twisting of facts.

weird, it makes me think of food courts at the mall, and hot dogs.
Reminds me of my high school days -I used to transfer buses on my way to and from school back in the 70's on 4th ave downtown and there was an Orange Julius store right at the bus stop. O/T side note -in those days the bus line was Rosie (Rose City Transit) and not Tri Met.

I'll disagree with this part, or at least expand upon it. I am deliberately ignorant about a lot of things without being deceitful. On many topics, I choose to remain disinterested, and thus also remain deliberately ignorant.
