Just finished watching this. Totally gripping but very frustrating - not just because Maskell died in his bed, but because you know there are so many people walking around who were part of his circle. How the fuck does the Catholic Church justify moving him around all the time? I'll never understand why they do that with pedophiles. Why not just kick 'em out, like when the boy's mother complained in '67? Are they really that much more invested in their priests than they are in their parishioners? I don't get it.
What's the biggest mystery is the second girl who was killed, two days after sister Cathy. Apparently there was also a third not even mentioned in the series.
The two older lady investigators should get their own series - they were awesome. Real life Murder She Wrote. Also, why the hell didn't David Simon do a season of the Wire about the Catholic Church? Seems like it looms large over Baltimore.
