Still boycotting all Star Wars due to The Last Jedi ruining it all for me. I have Disney Plus too, for the MCU.

Watched Season 2, Episode 1 last night. I like it.

Loved seeing the sand people and the sand worm/shark. Brought me back to the original trilogy.

I think The Mandalorian is easily the best Star Wars film/tv since the original trilogy.

Lots of Easter eggs in the latest episode.

...do you have a good link to said Easter eggs? I ask because I don't really know much about in-depth Star Wars backstories etc.

Have you watched The Clone Wars cartoons or Star Wars Rebels? They're both exceptional.

I've watched about half of each of them, and I've watched all of the Star Wars: Resistance cartoon series.

I couldn't make it through Resistance but I loved the other two shows.

Bro, it is so good. A *wee* bit episodic, but in a cool comic book sort of way. Give it a chance.

The whole motif is kind of borrowed from the old wild west movies, with the gun-slinger who comes into town and cleans out the bad guys, but with robots, aliens and monsters filling in for the bad guys and Indians in a more politically correct way suitable for our times. In other words, I love it.

Totally...even the music. It's is like the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly tune jammed through a modernizer machine.

The Best Easter Egg in the Latest Mandalorian Was Right on Target

However, before it was released to the public, the toy was recalled for fear that kids would shoot themselves in the eye with the projectile, creating a safety hazard. The rocket-firing Fett is one of the most infamous collectible relics for Star Wars fans — today, rare early prototypes of it are some of, if not the, most valuable and sought-after Star Wars toys in the world. So when Cobb Vanth shoots the Krayt dragon in the eye during “The Marshal,” Favreau knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s winking at that.

But that’s not all. Think about how Vanth shoots the rocket, which he does twice in the episode. He does so by bending at his waist. Considering the rocket has a targeting system tied to the helmet, and the Star Wars universe is pretty technologically advanced, you’d imagine it could very easily shoot up and hit its target. There’s no reason for him to bend over like he’s an action figure with limited articulation. That is, unless, it’s a reference to the fact the original Star Wars toys only bent that way. Which, come on. It absolutely was:

I thought this episode was a bit weak. The spider creatures were cool and that added some suspense, but I feel like giants spiders has kind of been overdone in films recently. Did I miss any cool easter eggs?

Not that I saw, but it sure did look like baby Yodas thoroughly enjoy lizard eggs.

This whole season has been pretty slow honestly.

Star Trek: Discovery has been really good so far this season.

I just read that Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, who plays Appa in the Canadian sitcom Kim’s Convenience, appears as one of the X-wing pilots.

I'm hoping this season is just a slow burn.

It feels like the episodes are too short.

Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker were soo terrible... It somehow makes the prequels look great.

Season 1 was awesome but season 2 has been slow...hopefully it gets a bit more interesting.

The problem with season 2 so far, for me at least, is that it seems a little aimless. He's just cruising around. At least in the first season it was because they were running and hiding the kid. Filoni usually has much better story telling than this.
