I was trying to figure out the different types of offense. There are so many now, which is a very good sign.
.) The patented Pick and Pop. Using Aldridge to set a half ass pick, then Lillard will either drive to the basket or he pops it out to a wide open Aldridge.
.) Cross court 3. Setting up Aldridge in the left or right block. The moment the double comes, Aldridge passes out, then the ball is passed all the way around to the other side of the court. A wide open 3 for the corner jump shooter.
.) Lillard ISO. Okay everyone clear the fuck out and allow Dame to break his man's ankles and get into the paint. If they close in, then there are 4 other players able to hit the jump shot. Dame is good (not Roy good yet) at finding the wide open J!
.) Aldridge clear out. Batum has been the best player to get the ball to Aldridge in the low block. Clear out and left him back his man in. If the double comes, then Aldridge kicks it out to the wide open 3.
.) 3 point barrage. Have three solid perimeter players on the left and right wing and one at the top of the 3 point line. Fake the post up and swing it left to right until there is a wide open 3 point shooter open. Nail or get the offensive board and reload.
.) Batum and Lopez/Freeland pick and roll. The old school pick and roll. Pick is set at the top of the key, while Batum has the opportunity to hit a wide open 10-12 footer or pass to a cutting Lopez/Freeland for a easy basket.
.) Matthews drive for a 10-12 ft. shot. It usually starts at the right side and he drives left. Usually shoots a free throw line jumper. This has "money" written all over it.
.) Lillard's top of the key walk up three. I usually see this about 3-4 times a game. He's walking the ball up the court and if he sees his man stay behind the 3 point line, he shoots a 3 usually 2 feet from the 3 point line. This isn't as efficient as most other plays, but it definitely keeps the defense honest. This also helps the quick doubles up top.
.) Double screen with the pass to the first screening player in the paint. I want this ran more often because I think it's really efficient. Usually the pick starts at the top of the key, then another back pick is made to force the double. The player that sets the first pick is rolling at the opposite end of the court and usually has a wide open Dunk attempt. I've seen it only a few times before. I wished it was ran more.
.) Batum ISO. This has the most promise because Batum has good court vision and passing instincts. The ISO usually starts on the left wing. He drives towards the free throw line and has 3 options to pass to (left block, right block and right wing). This should be efficient because Batum also works his way to the paint to get the offensive board, if there is a miss. I want to see this more as well.
