We do dinner as well....the idea is that the house smells like cooking all day

I usually fly up Thanksgiving day, take a walk around downtown Portland then go back to parents home and make the mashed potatoes. Yukon gold. With lots of butter and sour cream, sometimes cream cheese

My wife cooks up a storm and I run the espresso machine and play bartender....I'll prep for her and wash dishes as she needs space to do her magic

I'm making Brussels sprouts this year at my girlfriend's parents house. And also making mini bourbon pumpkin cheesecakes with salted caramel sauce and toasted pecans on top.

Trying to decide what mini desserts to make for my mini Thanksgiving. Mini pecan pie, pumpkin pie, bourbon bread pudding (making bourbon brown sugar glazed turkey so it goes), mini cranberry upside down cake?

true fact...when I first read that sentence I was thinking you were talking about crackers as a side dish....another Ritz joke maybe

I always end up getting crackers and cheese at the last minute

We have Thanksgiving dinner

I think more crackers do Thanksgiving lunch or afternoon

We put on movies and play childhood video games downstairs while the parents eat up stairs (we usually have 20 to 30 people over)

Do you sit at the kids table or adult table?

I’ve lived in Oregon all my life except for a stint in the Air Force. I’ve never once had biscuits as a Thanksgiving side dish. Sweet potato casserole and cranberry jello. And stuffing. And mashed potatoes. Green bean casserole.

Kids. We all take our food downstairs to the family room. Have tables set up and TV. All the older folk are in the dining room and kitchen

Stuffing is the best, but if we're counting mac & cheese, I'll go with that.

Honestly I'd be happy eating only stuffing on Thanksgiving. It's by far the best part.

But I do have to say that I have indeed had biscuits slathered in gravy on Thanksgiving.

The side dish I bring varies each year, but they all share a couple things in common: lots of cleavage and short skirts.

I’m disappointed in Oregon

Also I had no idea that macaroni and cheese was a side dish for thanksgiving. That is now my favorite side dish for thanksgiving.
Our side dishes are always cranberry sauce, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy and candied yams, sometimes green bean casserole and always pumpkin pie with whipped cream. A nice white wine like a German Riesling. Oh, and beer and football.

The bourbon bread pudding sounds fabulous. Pineapple upside down cake would also be wonderful. Pumpkin pie is always a hit. Dammit, it all makes my mouth water.
