Didn't expect to see a thread about these guys here. They had a podcast network that was popular during the 2016 election in fringe political circles, the leader is some fat guy from New York who was once married to a Jewish woman and carried Richard Spencer's weed through airports for most of the 2010s. It's honestly embarrassing to see how little that whole alt right scene actually produced in terms of just competent people. They can't find someone who isn't a massive hypocrite, a federal informant, or associated with pedophiles to represent them.

To be fair, your last sentence can also apply to just about everyone looking to run for office...
(And us real alt-righters like that these guys are the ones popping their heads up and keeping the heat away from us...nothing to see here...)

Well, I don't know his motivations, but since he didn't actually say that and refuted anything like that, I guess we'll never know.
I swear, it's like a bot-driven Mandela Effect in here sometimes.
 
There were very fine people on both sides. The sides being Nazis and anti Nazis.

This isn't even a "context is important" rebuttal---he literally didn't say what you said he did, and he explicitly refuted what you thought he said less than a minute later. It never happened the way you think and are writing it did. Which is textbook Mandela Effect.

You know, speaking of heat, it is very interesting to me how Nick Fuentes was spared by the FBI for his role at the January 6th thing. Random construction workers without much political background got 7 year stretches, and yet they didn't throw the book at Nick. The leader of the NJP was on trial for involvement in Charlottesville and was cut from the overall case by the prosecution. You can see on the NJP website that they have this membership vetting process that basically looks like a way to sign on voluntarily to be monitored by the FBI.

Concur, and so did President Trump (bolded above)

Edit: though there's an "only Sith deal in absolutes" moment. Card-carrying member of the Party? Person who believed in the ideas? Renounced later? In that vein, there are a lot of people espousing ideals and carrying cards around the world in things one doesn't want to believe in. NASA was built off of a lot of Nazi technology and technologists. Palestinians (and some Iranian leaders) today think the world's a better place if Israel is eradicated. Yet the average citizen's tax dollars fund those guys, and they vote for people who embrace those people and their ideologies.

Lots of people want to hate. Not a good place to be in the world.

If 11 people are at a table with a nazi and they don’t instantly kick him out, you have a table of 12 nazis. You can’t have fine people in the nazi demonstration because if they’re marching with nazis they are nazis.

That's an interesting philosophy of life. Also goes against our Constitution, but I don't expect that I'm going to find middle ground on this board. I was just pointing out factual inconsistencies with posts above.

it comes with a lot of life experience. Just about every Nazi ever is dead. Just about every boogeyman Neo-Nazi (there is a large difference) is afflicted with some kind of idiocy that makes them both espouse their beliefs and be completely inconsequential for it. I deal with a lot worse issues in the world than what CNN tells me is bad. One could, should one be on a different board and so inclined to get into arguments, say something to the effect of "Portland rallies and protests should be wiped off the map for its love of Antifa and socialist principles, which--whether they come from Marx, Engles, Lenin, Trotsky, Kruschev, Mao, Kim, Merkel, Castro or Trudeau--have a foundation in oppression and have no place in a Republic based off of Freedom." But I have an ability to be unaffected by both that nonsense and those who are the target of it, because there are people who are really hurting and need real help, not whatever national media or national politicians' outrage of the moment is.
 
I find how deathly serious people take Nazis to be pretty funny. The modern ones, anyway. A bunch of virgins wielding tiki torches and dressing up like catboys online. If it's causing you stress, go read some Miguel Serrano. Read about Hitler flying into the middle of the Earth and the Aryans being a race of celestial aliens destined to conquer the Atlantic. I guarantee you'll never take them seriously ever again.

crandc and I have talked about these things in the past, so I know where I stand on that, but I don't think I've heard from you (at least not with this username).

One of the more interesting modalities of the Nazi party was to control the news media and industrialize propaganda. I'm sure you know of Goebbels and Volkischer Beobachter the like

but there's an interesting parallel to something that happened in this very thread, where someone was/is convinced that something happened that actually didn't, and is actually using it to propogate and underpin further thought and action. Perhaps that's due to modern media utilizing some of Hitler's principles above for their own purposes. Or in another example, that you, I believe, were stating that someone's freedom to protest should be taken away if there was someone in the same protest who thought differently than you think they should! I'll admit--I care less about those labeled as Neo-Nazis and more about the uneducated masses who espouse socialism, rights of the individual without responsibilities and who don't care about the level they've been manipulated--because when Neo-Nazis do something horrible (even non-binary ones from non-binary homes) they are subjected to our justice system. But when (another Hitlerism adopted by Socialist leaders like Mao and Stalin) "enemies of the state" are identified and persecuted solely because of ideas, you're on a path that leads nowhere good.

Not for me...I love to teach. And learn, when appropriate. But sure.
