Re:
Obviously the team misses Vince, even as horribly as he was shooting until the last two games he played. But even with him this offense was just plain ugly most of the time.

There's no denying that there's more player and ball movement this year. A lot more, actually. But it's not productive, adventageous movement of the kind that gets a player with the ball in good position near the hoop. All this running around and passing around the permiter typically results in . . . a 20 footer from one of Richard, Boki, Antoine, or Kidd. Not a formula for success, especially since you're wasting so much energy on the offensive end for a shot that is practically identical to what you could get at any point in the clock with very little running around.

So far this offense is not producing anywhere near the quality of shots that simple pick and roll basketball with either VC or Marcus running the play with Mikki Moore or (later in the year) Josh Boone was producing last year with static, spot up shooters on the weak side. Even Krstic's best moments this young season have been off pick and pop plays with Vince.

I'm sure Frank is a bright guy and realizes that his team needs to score more in the paint. But somehow he hasn't figured out whay all these screens and the motion away from the ball is not resulting in back doors, alley oops, and mixed up switches on cross-lane screens that can result in easy scores inside. He needs to identify the reasons for these failures ASAP . . . or else go back to pick and roll basket ball when VC returns and start Sean so there's actually someone to roll.
