We are about to continue in our strong tradition of bad drafts. First off, Westbrook will be terrible! Has anyone watched this guy? I watched a lot of his games, he's not a point, and he's not a 2 guard. He cannot shoot, and he didn't average more than 2 assists or so. He's a tweener that will be good for nothing and possibly out of the league after his rookie contract expires. Lopez, bleh, whatever. And Galinari is another soft Euro. Is this really the best we can do?</div>
Did you really watch him play? In workouts with other teams he shot 36 out of 50 for threes (led all pg's). His midrange game is really really good. He gets a high release(for his size) and can stop in a dime. He's a great defender(what the Nets need off the bench). If he falls and the Nets don't draft him that would be a huge mistake.
</div>
Maybe if he falls to the second round. Do you really want to draft another backup point at 21? Like Marcus Williams? At least Williams was among the nation's leaders in assists. Westbrook averaged 2.5 assists for his college career (4.3 last year)? And he never had a double digit assist game either. Are those the numbers of a first round point guard? No freakin' way. So, he's neither a true shooter, or a point. He's a tweener that will be exposed at the next level, watch.
</div>

Not a shooter, not a point, he'll be exposed and suck like Monta Ellis.

lol, yeah, he's the next Monta Ellis. Every tweener is now the next Ellis. Ellis would've averaged 20 points in his sleep at a major D1 school. Westbrook averaged what, 12? So, he's not a scorer either. That's strike 3 by the way. Maybe he's got great intangibles, though, lol.

I guess that's why Monta Ellis fell to the 40's! A guy who could average 20 ppg in his sleep, 40th overall pick.

The reason Marcus fell was bcuz his measurements were horrible(12.4 body fat/small wingspan/bad speed..etc). There is no way Westbrook falls to 21. Please don't count Westbrook's freshman year he hardly played. 4.3 apg is great for a combo guard(what the Nets need off the bench he should replace Marcus plus he can also backup carter). His wingspan/standing reach is the size of an avg SG in the nba and his speed is harris like.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (footswalker @ Jun 18 2008, 06:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Workouts are overrated. Any competent college or even high school player can drain wide open shots. How about when he's being guarded, and not guarded in a little 2 on 2 workout, where the players all try to make each other look good. He shot 33% from 3 last year. And that's with a guy like Love demanding double teams down low. So these were open looks from college distance and he shot 33%. Like I said, I watched him and he's not a shooter.</div>

Yeah I love how the players are just so nice to one another. "Hey Russel! Yeah hey I'd rather see you drain 20 points on me then show these NBA scouts how I play defense!" "Gee, thanks!"
