WASHINGTON – Sarah Palin says the Obama administration must tell Americans what it knows about who will be Egypt's next leader.

In a Christian Broadcasting Network interview released Saturday, the 2008 vice presidential candidate says the administration should level with the American people on what it knows about the Egyptian crisis.

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak wants to rule until September elections.

Palin said the U.S. must find out who is "behind all the turmoil" and that "we should not stand" for a government led by the Muslim Brotherhood.

Dumb as a fucking bag of rocks, and dangerous. It's like listening to your crazy old aunt rant and rave about shit she has no clue about... but your crazy old aunt has 10 million people following her on Twitter.

I have to agree with you on this one.

Palin is a train wreck. And thus far I think Obama has handled this situation perfectly. He has not inflamed the situation with rhetoric, not openly taken sides, quietly moved Americans in harm's way (I have a friend in Cairo and she has been relocated for now to Turkey until this all blows over) out of the area, seems to be taking a soft key approach in finding a solution... I don't know how it could be handled any better.

Republicans learned from the Left's mistakes when it comes to nonsensical rantings. Instead of "illuminati" and "skull and bones", use names that don't just make people laugh, but instantly make them think of our "enemy".

Another thought.

Palin is an example of what is wrong in politics today. When the left does something very right, there is this compelling need for the right to bash for the sake of bashing. When the right does something good, the left is compelled to do the same bashing. Even this board is a microcosm of that thinking.

The facts are the left has done all the right & proper things in this Egyptian disaster and Palin should be more American and give credit where credit is due.

This is perhaps the most reasonable, rational political post I've ever seen on here. BP, I apologize for all of my part of the BS that you and I went through in that "Obama Detractors" thread. Repped.

I like her so much a want to do her in the butt!

I appreciate that. For my part, I know I get carried away at times an am unfair to you and a few others. I'm trying to change that aspect of my posts.

Her line about Obama's "investments" being "a bullet train to bankruptcy" was pretty good.

It cracks me up how some people can drive their political opponents to the point of insanity. Presidents Clinton and Obama and Nancy Pelosi drive the Right nuts, and George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin do the same to the Left.

Maybe we know where MIXUM takes his notes from.

I'm no Palin fan, but am I missing what I am supposed to be outraged about in this excerpt? I don't buy the media's scenario of what is actually going on in Egypt; it's too much of a good vs. evil storyline, and I too would like more information on the dynamics of who these protests started, in multiple cities, on the same day, with no leadership.

Huh?

President Obama again Friday called for Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to step down as protests continued and political analysts said the Middle East might be changed forever by the unrest.

Obama said it is “clear that there must be a transition process that begins now ... and leads to free and fair elections.”

He also pledged that the United States would remain a “strong friend and partner” of the Egyptian people throughout the turmoil

Obama hasn't taken sides? This is from Wednesday.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/feb/2/egypts-blood-obamas-hands/

President Obama is signaling the Egyptian opposition that their time has come. In a terse statement last night, Mr. Obama announced a “moment of transformation” had arrived in Egypt, “the status quo is not sustainable” and a new government must begin to form “now.” An administration official later reiterated, “the key part of the statement was ‘now.’ ” Today the formerly peaceful protests in Egypt turned violent. It turns out that words do have consequences.

Egypt is at a crossroads, a time of suspense when change could come gradually and peacefully, or quickly with maximum instability. The White House has chosen to back the latter course, which will play into the hands of the best organized, most radical factions, which in this case is the America-hating Muslim Brotherhood.

The Obama administration is strangely adamant that Muslim religious parties have to play a key role in the new government, and U.S. officials reportedly are reaching out to the Muslim Brotherhood behind the scenes. White House wishes aside, an Islamist government is not in Egypt’s interest and certainly not in the interest of the United States. The Muslim Brotherhood seeks to increase the influence of shariah worldwide and reverse the progress Egypt has made in becoming a more Western, more secular state. Its foreign policy was succinctly summed up by brotherhood leader Muhammad Ghannem, who said the Egyptian people should “be prepared for a war against Israel.” None of this will be good for America, the Mideast or the world.

Please don't compare Palin to Cheney and Bush. Palin is nowhere near the same level. Bush, Cheney, Clinton, Obama, and Pelosi are all elected officials with actual political experience and power. Palin is a pundit who will never be elected to any position again, and as we get closer to the 2012 presidential race Palin is going to become a distant memory. Only the hardcore Tea Party members support the ludicrous things she says. The OP knows that she has run her course, and soon she will only live on in hilarious YouTube videos.

Palin Event Canceled Over 'Safety Concerns'

An event scheduled for May featuring Sarah Palin was canceled the day after it was announced, citing "personal attacks" against Palin and "safety concerns."

The Sharon K Pacheco Foundation announced the cancellation of their 2011 Patriots & Warriors Charity Gala and included a statement on their Facebook page. It reads, "Due to an onslaught of personal attacks against Governor Palin and others associated with her appearance, it is with deep sadness and disappointment that, in the best interest of all, we cancel the event for safety concerns."

The foundation went on to say no direct threats were made against Palin or anyone else involved with the event.

Wow! Sure, I know my comment was personal but I swear I was going to be gentle.

The best part of that video was Charlie Gibson missing on what the Bush Doctrine is/was. He came off as stupid as Palin.

I do agree on Palin not being at all on the level as Obama and Bush. People like ChrisinPDX, who elevate her to their level with their anger at her, scare me more than Palin, though. She's a crazy lady with a Facebook account. Just let her be, and hopefully she'll go away. For whatever reason, the far left just won't do that.

Yeah, it's the far left who won't let Palin go away :rolleyes2:

What anger? She would be hilarious to me if she didn't have such a rabid following fervently repeating her idiocy because she's "folksy" and appeals to their own anti-intellectual leanings, which to me is dangerous.

Nothing you can do on this board will stop dumb people from doing and saying dumb things. Since you posted this thread, what about Palin's comments on Egypt got you so upset?

I can't stand her for the same reason I can't stand certain "reality" shows on television. I don't buy 90 percent of what she is saying and she just comes off as a fake. Some people don't get that vibe, I do.

The far left is increasingly using violent threats and anger to try and stifle freedom of speech.

Perhaps I should listen to what Palin actually says, because she must be saying things that make her worth threatening with violence.

Denver event featuring Palin canceled due to safety concerns
DENVER -- A Centennial-based organization has canceled an upcoming charity event featuring Sarah Palin, citing safety concerns.

The Sharon K Pacheco Foundation announced Saturday that the 2011 Patriots & Warriors Charity Gala scheduled for May 2 would not be held.

"Due to an onslaught of personal attacks against Governor Palin and others associated with her appearance, it is with deep sadness and disappointment that, in the best interest of all, we cancel the event for safety concerns," said the Foundation's Director.

The foundation says the recent increase in negative rhetoric against the former Alaska governor "raises concern for her safety and the safety of others despite the call for civility in America," following the tragic Tucson shooting.

The organization plans to host the event at some point in the future, featuring another speaker.

Maybe the bullet train to bankruptcy will cross the bridge to nowhere?
