Papag, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to compare season statistics when the main debate is about the differing systems this season. By comparing seasons, you're adding in other variables that you seem to be ignoring.

My good friend BGrantFan posted the statistics earlier in the season with Roy. I invite you to look them up, and compare them to the recent statistics. ;)

Oh, hell no. That guy was such a giant douchebag. I'm glad he's gone.

In this Aldridge offense, we need more shooters to prevent teams from doubling LA. Nic, Rudy, Wes, and Patty keep on missing wide open jumpers. Getting a ~40% 3pt shooter can improve our offensive ranks a lot.

Great point. Apparently being last in the league in pace again, yet with worse FG% and efficiency than years' past, is "exciting". As I watch, it becomes apparent that if Wesley Matthews is hitting 3s, the team can win, and that is with LMA playing at close to an MVP level.

There are always variables in any argument. Variables didn't seem to matter to the hoard that was calling for Nate's head the past two years. A 'variable' is simply a way of spinning an 'excuse', depending on your interpretation or POV. I include myself in this as well. Or, an 'excuse' is a way to spin a 'variable'. Either way, it's always considered, isn't it? Bashing Nate or Roy, for example, based on the same static variables, yet calling those same variables an 'excuse' when it pertains to a personal favorite only shows bias. The truth is totally subjective, dependent on any given loyalty or allegiance.

Oh papag... up to your old shenanigans?

What would that be? Fostering conversation on this board?

Also, you don't have the cash to go to Glendale, yet you've burned money on a Droid with tapatalk? Hmm... :)

Well, then remain ignorant, because that guy had a boffo post on where the offense was with Roy this season.

I can't see the original post, but who started this rumor the Blazers have a new offense? They don't. Same offense, different personnel. In the past it was the Roy iso and kick-out. Now, it's the Aldridge iso and kick out. The only real difference in the "system" is that Roy drove the lane and kicked out, Aldridge starts in the post and kicks out.

The real difference isn't the system, it's the personnel. Roy had Aldridge he could dish to for the 17 - 19 footer, plus multiple 3-point shooters. Aldridge has much poorer shooters to kick out to. Webster and Bayless are gone, and replaced with nothing. Aldridge is now down low and doesn't have a comparable second option to pass to (Wes Mattews is a good player, but he's not close to pre-injury Roy, or even pre-beast Aldridge). Outlaw is gone, replaced with a submiature, poorer shooting version of himself - a guy who can, and will, create his own shot almost every time he touches the ball. Unfortunately, creating and making shots are two different things and the new version is almost a foot shorter and shoots a much lower percentage.

Same system, inferior personnel = worse results. No big surprise there. How can anyone possibly claim it's the system responsible for the decline in production and totally ignore the massive changes in the roster? It makes absolutely no sense.

BNM

Roy isn't anywhere near what he did as 3 time AS. It was obvious, he was very mediocre this season. I don't get the point of this thread.

Without Roy were mediocre. With a healthy Roy we were even worse. Is there a point?

Last year. Game One. Phoenix series. Plenty of talk on multiple boards how the team was better w/out Roy. I've seen it as far back as three years ago.

Link, or your full of shit like usual.

You always complain about strawman arguments, your making a generalized strawman of the entire board... nice:chestbump:

Whats the over/under on how many days it takes for Papag to throw a temper tantrum, change screen names for several months while flat out denying it only to go back to his old handle and act like nothing happened.

Pretty bizarre and twisted approach to Blazer dialogue on the internet if you ask me.

I give it two months til it happens again.

LOL

Take me off of ignore and you can read the post, Mr. Passive-agressive.

What does this post have to do with the topic at hand?

Mods, I thought you were going to end this sort of personal BS?

What value does this sort of post bring to any discussion on the Blazer board?

Uhhh, you brought up your 'buddy' bgrantfan.

meltdown in 5....4.....3.....2.......

Was that a knee slapper?

Let's make a bet on which happens first. I have a meltdown and 'leave the board', or you succumb again to your inner attention whore and post another photo of you wearing a wife beater and flexing your arms.

:)

I already know what will happen first. You're going to get before and after pics of me in about a month. When you get a boner you can just tuck it in your belt buckle. Your wife won't care, she's probably going to be in Kah-Neeta or something without you anyways.

Wow, can't wait! Neither can all of the other dudes on the board, I'm sure!

Is the Fish Grotto still where you guys hang out and eat dinner?

Fish Grotto? I don't get it. Is that a lame attempt at a joke?

Shoot, this meltdown might happen quicker than I thought.

Tell me more about the countdown to your pics! Can I quote you on it being a month away?

Nobody is forcing you to open up that working out thread. Its funny.

In terms of stats for just this year I don't have the teams overall efficiency with and without Roy, but it's interesting that outside of Marcus Camby Roy has the worst offensive rating of any of the starters. So for this year at least the offense of the starters is doing better without Roy.

You just have to check out that thread don't you? lol

Huh? I checked out the thread I started in the OT forum about boatsandstars. Are you following me? Wouldn't it be better if you just came clean with yourself, Zags?

WTF are you talking about?

No one has a gun to your head (air soft, or otherwise) and making you check out the Working Out thread. You do it on your own will.

Because you can't resist checking out my body. Its pretty clear cut, what in the fuck does a boatandstars have to do with it?

Um, OK. Best of luck with your "Working Out" photos. I'm all for physical fitness, even if it means seeking validation from random men on the internet!

Yep, you got it right. The sole purpose that I workout is to seek 'validation' from strangers on the internet. It makes me feel, uh, 'validated'.

Fuck, you got me! You are good. I think the vegan deli business is the wrong business for you. I think pseudo-psychology is a better career path.

Meanwhile, continue clicking on that thread to see if I have put any pics up.

Pointing out W/L with or without Roy is disingenuous at best when you consider that 8 out of 15 games without him were at home, while only 10 out the of 26 with him were at home.

LOL!

1) You titled the thread "Improved Offense WITHOUT Roy".
2) Yet, you have yet to produce any stats of the offense WITH Roy compared to WITHOUT Roy.
3) Like Minstrel says, almost nobody claims the offense is better without a HEALTHY Roy.

This is a pathetic attempt to rile people up, even for you PapaG.

But then again, you just posted some stats. :dunno:
