Who is out there, and who would you like running the Blazers as the GM?

I've always liked Lawrence Frank. Hes with the clippers now as their EVP of Basketball Operations.

Becky Hammond has been in that Popovich system for quite a while now. I would rather go with some new blood as a head coach than hire some old retread.

Mike Budenholzer of the Hawks is another fine choice. I loved his system in Atlanta when they actually had talent. Another Popovich desciple.

If you are seeing a pattern here, there is a reason.

Coach comes later, what about GM? We need someone who can get guys who can consistently play well with each other

I'm an idiot and was thinking coach instead of gm. I guess that was the first place my mind went.

I'm drawing a blank on gms. Does Daryl Morey have an assistant?

Me.

Okay, that might not be the best choice, but I'm sure there are plenty in here who have the expertise to do a near perfect job. So, why don't half of us have NBA GM and/or coaching jobs?

Maybe Paul Allen has been working on a "Supah-Sekrit" GMing algorithm that can run the team from a server farm in Mumbai?

Because theres a difference between being an NBA gm, and one in 2k.

RC Buford? If Popp is nearing retirement, and the +LMA -Kawhi franchise is splintering, maybe other elements of the infrastructure become available for poaching.

You've "always" liked a guy who up until two years ago was a coach not in the front office? Did you have some magic crystal ball that told you he'd make a good GM someday?

I wish they would bring Geoff Petrie back. He was probably the best GM we’ve ever had (with apologies to Harry Glickman.....and fuck “I’m Not A Chemistry Major” Bob Whitsitt) Petrie put together the last great Blazer teams that not only had serious talent, but that were class acts pretty much from top to bottom (and he did one helluva a job in SAC also). A few years of Petrie might not be a bad thing......kinda like GSW and LAC bringing Jerry West in to steady the helm and provide some objective and meaningful insights........I just think that NO’s ego gets in his way.

The two main talents are scout (talent evaluator) and horse trader. He should bullshit other GMs, but not us.

Olshe drafts have been pretty solid. His FA offers have been terrible.

looks like Neil is not only a failed actor now, but a failed GM. What a failure.
