That steal by Cp3 when he mugged, umm i'm not actually sure what player that was, but he stole the ball from someone and just mugged the guy. Refs looked the other way, I feel for you guys with the "small market so when you play an actual superstar its biased as hell against you" card.

Haha.

Yeah he mugged Brewer. Man I hate every player on that Clippers team (except for Dudley).

It was insane. Oh well. They showed they are just as good as the Clippers tonight.

Blazers and Wolves still don't play for a month?

It will be a good game for sure. Love and Aldridge are the best PFs in the game. It should be a battle. Hopefully both are at full strength.

Wed, Dec 18 if our first game against you. Love/LA will be the highlight but I really want to see Rubio vs Lillard.

Should be really interesting. Pretty much complete opposite type of players (Rubio and Lillard).

Its why I want to see it so much, they effect the game in different ways and Rubio is a good defender while Lillard has made strides in that area but isnt' the defender Rubio is but Lillard can get hot and look unguardable at times.

The Wolves are a different team this year for the simple fact that they have a consistent shooter with a Love now: Kevin Martin.

The problem with Martin is his durability. That's always been the problem. Will he stay healthy? I guess we'll see.

For the first time in his NBA career it seems like Adelman is utilizing Love's outlet passing abilities. He's got an uncanny ability to find a man down court off the miss and fling a line drive perfect pass almost the full length of the floor for the easy hoop.

I've been complaining that he hasn't been using this asset for years.

Love can never be the best player on a winning team....

Love can absolutely be the best player on a winning team, I don't think anyone questioned that. Big difference between saying he has never had a winning season, then that if he is your best player your team will never be a winner. I don't think he can be the best player on a championship team or a team that makes the WCF. Few teams that have made the ECF/WCF in the last 5 years have a big as their best player. Dirks with the Mavs 2011, Dwight with the Magic in 08-09, maybe Randolph with the Grizz in 2013 but its hard to point to an MVP from that Grizz team. Those Spurs teams you can make a better argument for Tony Parker then Duncan. The Majority of WCF/ECF teams in the last 5 years to make their conferences finals have not had a big as there best player.

Back when Love made the Allstar team over LMA tons of people ripped Love saying he would never be more than an interesting role player and he's best as a 4th option. TWolves announcers were saying some of those things too, Kahn wasn't the only person who had reservations about giving him a 5 year max contract.

Absolutely people have questioned that. I've read it several times on this board. He also puts up empty stats dontchya know?

I could bump up old threads for days about this.

It would be sooooooo awesome if Houston ends as a 7th seed. The in fighting would be epic!!!!!

They're going to make a trade. Asik will be moved. It's only a matter of time.

I was playing around with the trade machine. I wonder if Detroit, Houston, and NOP would do a threeway.

Asik/Parsons/Motiejunas to NO
Josh Smith to Houston
Eric Gordon to Detroit.

I just don't see them trading smith, even if it makes sense. I think Houston would want to get a player like Anderson from Nola. He is a stretch 4, which is a better role for Howard anyway. Asik in Nola makes sense because he can play along side Anthony.

Better to have a trade with just Nola. Asik for Anderson straight up. Maybe Houston has to give them a pick.

Howard sure would love to see his buddy join him in Houston.

As Platy just pointed out, Howard wants Smith in Houston. Actually, I'm really not sure if Detroit would trade him for Gordon, but they need a legit shooting guard. Anyway, I just like playing around with the trade machine and I was trying to think of something that involved Detroit AND Houston. Unfortunately for the Rockets, I don't think Detroit would have any interest at all in Asik. I'd throw us in the mix, but I don't think we need a trade right now. Maybe when CJ comes back we might have to do something, but currently I like our team the way it is.

You can't always get what you want. Smith is a good player. Hell he is a damn good player. But bringing Smith to play with Howard is just as much of a cluster fuck as Asik would be. Howard needs a stretch 4. Adding more rebounding, shot blocking and inside scoring is only going to ruin the flow for him.

The team that really needs Asik is NOLA, Phoenix, Cleveland, Boston, Charlotte and Dallas. I would start there.

The Knicks are buried in salary-cap hell through 2014, awaiting Amar'e Stoudemire ($23.4 million), Tyson Chandler ($14.3 million) and Andrea Bargnani ($12 million) to expire. The Knicks are sold on Love in 2015, sources tell Yahoo Sports, and they've already begun devising a strategy to lure him when the time comes. The possibility of leaving the Knicks for the Los Angeles Lakers will be Melo's leverage until it no longer is, but as one source with knowledge of the process says: "Do you think 'Melo wants to be known for not winning titles in New York and L.A.?"

I agree that NOLA could really use him, but Phoenix is supposedly tanking. Cleveland has Bynum and Verjasoijads, Boston is supposedly tanking, Charlotte doesn't have much to offer, and Dallas is a pile of junk as well. What would be interesting, however, is if Dallas would ever trade Dirk. At this point, I think Cuban should just blow it up. Dirk is in the last year of his contract. He would be the perfect stretch four that you're talking about. Could you imagine Harden, Dirk, and DHO?

I suspect Melo will leave New York.

Cuban's just crazy enough to do it, if he got the right haul. However, I have a feeling that the Mavericks' faithful would turn on him if he ever traded Dirk.

Steady Brook Lopez:

20 ppg | 6 rpg | 2.3 bpg | 26.9 PER | 102 DRtg

He finished last year with a 25 PER. As big as the Lopez brothers are they are both poor rebounders, especially when you consider their size.

I have a feeling Dirk is gone after the year is over anyway. There's no way Dallas can give him a huge contract at this stage in his career. They need to rebuild.
