Rubio with a triple double:

12 PTS/ 14 AST/ 10 RBS... also, 5 steals.

lmao. L*kers are so pathetic.

Keeping Gasol in there to hopefully boost up his stats for a trade. A blow out game and Gasol has been in most of the time. Stupid.

As someone who hasn't watched many games (outside of Portland), does anyone have an explanation for why Rubio is shooting such atrocious #'s?

I know it's just 7 games (32% from the floor, 33% from 3 (but that went up from 23% prior to tonights 2-2), 9 points and just under 9 assist a game), but his numbers don't seem to be as impressive as I had hoped.

Is he injured?

Knicks are a mess with or without Wiggins. Can you imagine Melo having to share the ball with Wiggins?

True, but there is more than just Wiggins. They could use a PG or PF. Amare and his contract needs to go away.

Indiana is the real deal.

I hope they can take down the Heat.

Small market > Large all day every day! :)

I haven't watched much either, but Rubio has always shot poorly this side of the pond. But, he's got outstanding court vision, so I'm sure he'll turn into even more of a pass first PG, and just shoot to keep the defense honest.

His passing is a think of beauty (at times) but he's be soooooo much better he at least shot in the low 40's from the floor. Wouldn't be THAT hard to get at least a respectable shot.

Oh, I agree. And I think he will. Remember, he hasn't played a FULL season yet, so I think this year will be his breakout year... especially with how talented the rest of the team is.

I think that rationale is kind of a faulty one (although I think I get the bigger picture of what you're saying). He's had 3 years to acclimate himself to the US game and several years of playing professional basketball to get a passable shooting touch. It took one or two off seasons for Rod Strickland to get a decent mid-range game.

While not the same aspects of the game, look at Freelands transition from last year to this year. He went from a lost on the court, to a serviceable big man. It wouldn't take THAT much for Rubio to become a respectable shooter.

Fair enough. I see where you're coming from. Regardless of if it should have been this year or years prior, itll happen and he's gonna turn into that superstar they've waited that long for. That's going to be a scary team this year and next year.

Shabust is in, mop up minutes.

He was the 14th pick. Kinda hard to call him a bust.

Just an overhyped high school standout that let it get to his head in college. The guy has a ton of talent and if the Blazers could make a minor trade to land him I wouldn't bat an eye.

Going from a consensus #1 to not even in the rotation is on the freeway to bust, lets just say that.

Oops. Came back too soon from a broken foot maybe? Glad that kind of thing can't happen to the Blazers.

Is hollins that much of a difference marker for Memphis? Man they look like shit now

Yikes. Kyrie against Chicago

2 pts (0-6 FG 2-2 FT) 1 rebound 0 assists 2 turnovers midway through the 3rd.

Re: The 2013-14 Around The NBA Thread......

Oladipo has 2+ steals in 4 out of the last 6 games... and at least 1 steal in 7 of the last 8.
