Trade of John Salmons to Toronto means only two players left in entire NBA are legitimately at risk to be amnestied: C. Boozer & K. Perkins

Edit: Damn, beat me to it El

I would love to get Boozer. He would be amazing coming off our bench if he'd accept the role. It would hurt Robinson a bit, but at the same time I'd love to see Robinson learn from Booz. They could be similar players if Robinson polished his offensive game.

Perk not being amnestied is probably a bigger eff you by OKC to not let him pick up some extra cash after dogging it for them than anything else. ;)

No, Perk could only earn as much as is on his current contract, so he would get the same. The salary from the team who claims him would entirely go to OKC.

I doubt it would be possible for us to acquire him. First its unlikely we have any cap space, and if we do we would have to not sign anyone at the start of free agency in order to later on make an amnesty claim. We would only have a couple million of space, while Boozer would likely fetch more than Scola did in the $5+ million range.

I thought it was added. I think only what the new team is applied to their salary cap hit.

Only if he's claimed (full or partially, see Coon CBA #67). If he clears and becomes a UFA, "offset" is in effect. Here's Blatche's summary:
http://www.netsdaily.com/2013/3/14/4103468/keeping-andray-blatche-wont-be-easy-for-brooklyn-nets
Basically, players can get more if they're amnestied and not claimed than if they're amnestied, then claimed. Travis Outlaw (partially claimed for 12M) only gets paid his original contract. But Blatche gets paid more than he originally would. That's the position Perk would be in (as I don't see a lot of teams lining up to claim his deal, partially or not).

We have no cap space right now, and no exceptions. If he's amnestied during the FA period, we'll only have "full" MLE available.

Michael Beasley (left hamstring strain) will not play in tonight's #HEATgame vs the Pacers.

Danny Granger could be back as early as Friday.

So, are you calling a "great team just became a beast" or "clogging up a perfectly-running machine" scenario here?

Neither.

3 minutes left in the first quarter *Danny Granger has entered the game.*

1 minute left in the first quarter *Danny Granger has left the game with an injury.*

$16.8m for Boozer next year off of the bench is ridiculous. Not a a chance that happens this year. Why pay him that much money to play Robinson's minutes?

May as well wait until Chicago amnesties him next summer and pick him up for cheap. He might be willing to come off the bench if Portland goes into next year as a title contender. Or, he'll sign with the Heat for the vet minimum, and Bosh will move to center.

Chalmers
Wade
James
Boozer
Bosh

That's a nice team.

The only way LeBron James doesn't win MVP this year, aside from injury, is if voters are tired of him winning it.

I saw something posted here that had George 1st, LMA 2nd, and James something like 4th or 5th.

If James plays 70+ games and the Heat are first or second in the East, it would be a crime if he doesn't win.

27/7/6
He's shooting 60% from the floor. 60%!!!
44% from 3.
His FT is down. Burn him alive!

LBJ id having the best season in his NBA history right now. If he shot more, he could average 40 ppg, easily, but that wouldn't help his team win.

Well, we certainly can't trade for him. I was talking about if they amnestied him.

Fun fact: Lebron's CAREER AVERAGES in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks are all higher than what he's averaging this year.

Which leads us to another fun fact. You're quoted statement is false.

It's unfortunate when people don't recognize basketball skills. I made the mistake of doing that when I was a kid with Larry Bird. Wish I had known what I was watching at the time.

Is he talking about shooting %.......he's amazing at all 3 spots this year.

Unlike back then, it's the inundation that has turned a lot of people off, desensitizing it. It gets old really, really fast. Where as back then, it wasn't ubiquitous like it is now.

ESPNStats

The Pacers are the best defensive team in the NBA allowing 92.3 pts per 100 possessions. That is the best since the Spurs (91.5) in 2003-04.

Not how I read it. I read it as a blanket statement that this is his best year which I disagree with. Not that it matters because I agree with Papag that Lebron is so far the MVP.

FWIW: Pacers are two games ahead of Miami in the Eastern Conference, a half game ahead of Portland for the NBA's best record.

LeBron is having the best season any basketball player has ever had, outside of possibly himself last season.

HCP alluded to it; LeBron is shooting 63% from 2pt and 44% from 3pt while scoring 25.4 points a game. Nobody has come close to that in modern NBA history. LeBron has the highest PER in the league every season for 7 years running and the highest win share every season for 6 years running.

Lebron’s best true shooting percentage (TS%) was .605 before last season which was .640 and now this season is .683.

Lebron’s best effective field goal percentage (eFG%) was .554 before last season which was .603 and this season is now .638

Most complete player to ever play the game. Enjoy watching him while you can. You'll be telling you grand kids about his accomplishments.

Watching Lebron James makes me feel like I'm watching something I'll never see again.

Kobe? Eh. They'll be another just as good as him someday.

But with Lebron, probably never again.

All IMO.

Same here. I don't think there will be a superstar of his magnitude again for a long time. I mean Durant is good but he is the Malone to LeBron's Jordan.
