Bigger longshot of what? Coming?

Zaza Pachulia (as an example) can easily put up those sad stats that DeAndre is doing in the playoffs and he would cost at most 7.5 MIL a year.

True. It should be easy to pick up those 30 year old centers who had a season ending surgery on their Achilles.......

The worse he plays the better chance we land him. I hope to hell he sucks next game and they lose.
IMO he falls in the average center category. (Regardless of his stats) But that is about as good as we are going to get. I think Nene is the one center who is above average that we could land, but he does have a history of injuries and he will be 31 in September.

So gooooo Memphis.

It doesn't matter how he plays because his contract is still ridiculous. Who wants him at that contract, and after being an afterthought in the playoffs? The Clippers would be doing jumping jacks if they could pawn him off for some talent.

JR Smith is such a knucklehead.

GREENBURGH, N.Y. — J.R. Smith played dumb. The Knicks guard had just been asked about the performance of Jason Terry in Game 4, a performance that yielded Boston’s final 9 points of the game, in overtime.

That would be the same Jason Terry who goaded Smith into elbowing him in the face in Game 3, an offense for which Smith received a one-game suspension.

“Who?” Smith said. “I don’t even know who that is.”

It didn’t stop there.

Asked another question about Terry, Smith kept up the charade.

“Who?” he said again. “Who is that?"

He's the guy who outplayed you AGAIN, dumbass.

Jason Terry after the game:

"I'm a 14 year veteran. If you don't know who I am, you will by the end of this series"

He's so far in JR Smith's head. Fun to watch a veteran completely ruin a knucklehead by playing the mental game.

HAHAHAH Jet awesome.

JR is costing himself money with every new day.

Haha.

Beverley is such a punk. Jackson should have body-blocked him, though.

Tough loss for my Knicks. Go Rockets! I think both series are going 7.

The complexion of this HOU/OKC series has completely changed. Rockets are in alright shape.

Kendrick Perkins sucks now and he still gives everybody the stink eye.

magnifier- still think the Thunder are better without Westbrook?

The Rockets need to take Asik out of the game if the thunder are going to continue to hack-a-asik. Dude can't hit his free throws.

And Asik hits two free throws after I posted they needed to take him out.

Keep him in!

Asik 9/14 during this stretch from the FT line. OKC came out behind on it, statistically and in terms of PP/100 possessions.

Is anyone really going to argue that OKC is better without Westbrook? Jackson's stats were good, but Westbrook brings more than just what is in the box score.

I would argue that OKC would have been better with Durant and Harden over Durant and Westbrook, but it's obvious that either is better than Durant alone.

Exactly. I'll never understand why people wanted Westbrook to constantly defer to Durant and just be a distributor. He has to score for them to win! Durant knew this. That's why he always encouraged Westbrook.

If the Grizzlies can pull away from the Clippers, I'm not sure who I'd rather see in the next round, the Westbrook-less Thunder or the Houston Rockets. Teams that can shoot and have any sort of size have always given us trouble. We won the season series with the Rockets 3-1, but that one loss was bad enough that I'd almost rather play the Thunder, who we beat 2-1 in that series, with Westbrook.

I mean, we held teams under 90 ppg this season, and the Rockets slapped 121 on us in a 25 point blowout. They're like a Junior Varsity version of the Clippers.

I would want OKC. To lose one of their top two guys will throw their whole mojo off. I think the Thunder could be better off without Westbrook in the long run, but right now they have to essentially change who they are, and that kind of thing takes time.

I've gotta agree with you about OKC being in flux right now, but I think I might also rather face a team that gets most of their points from Harden than a team that gets most of their points from Durant and has Ibaka defending Gasol. On the year, we're 5-2 against both teams combined, but I expect the series to be extremely competitive no matter who the Grizz or Clippers play.

Either way, the talk in this town today was pretty nauseating, because everyone has started to talk about the series as if we're already in the second round, and I'm even starting to buy into it, but... we're still only up 3-2, and if we happen to drop game six in Memphis, I really don't like our chances in a game seven out in LA.

From Metta World Peace's twitter -

Marc Gasol and Tim Duncan are the best big men in the game. Glad they are not on the same team

Agreed in full. The only thing that's kept me from saying that Marc Gasol is the best center in the game is the fact that Tim Duncan is still playing ball.

KingSpeed, I've got you on block for the playoffs, but you always harp on Marc for not being selected an All-Star by the coaches. Well, how about Dwight's own teammate admitting that Marc is better right now?

I cant wait until the Blazers have homecourt in the playoffs for at least the first round. The playoffs have been a lot of fun to watch and I really would like to see the Rose Garden in that kind of frenzy.
