OKC is completely blowing it up. I really like Jerami Grant-- traded to DEN for a 2020 first rounder.
Westbrook trade coming too? Woj seems to indicate they might just be clearing a spot for Gallinari to start but they've gotta be blowing it up right?

If OKC gets at least 2 1sts for Westbrook and 1 for Adams then that would be 9 future 1st round picks acquired this summer.

I lost count, how many first rounder do OKC have now?

I'd be surprised if anyone trades for Westbrook. The best they could expect to get is expiring contracts.

First rounders:
2020 Denver
2021 Miami unprotected
2022 Clippers
2023 Miami lottery protected
2024 Clippers
2026 Clippers

All Clippers unprotected + swap rights in 2023 and 2025.

They have all the pieces to go after someone like Brad Beal AND Kevin Love.

A lineup of :

Westbrook
Beal
Roberson
Love
Adams

is damn good. Depends on if they want to truly blow it all up.

Always like Grant's game. Denver is shaping up to be very tough. Fucking sick and tired of hearing about the best duos in the league. The last time I checked its a 5 on 5 game and Bron Bron can't play 48 at his age.

And Miami should deal for Westbrook. He is a good fit for them and they would shoot way up in the east immediately with that deal. The other possibility seems to be Minnesota but I doubt a personality of Russ' caliber will want to be there.

I don't like him as a person much, but Portland could go after him with CJ et. al. I doubt, however, that Russ' hubris will allow him to consider Portland. Since, let's face it and contenders for him are going to want to know that he is 1oo% on board. Nobody brings it like RW every game, post-season not included!

Portland needs to make another addition I am afraid. The most obvious choices are to go hard after Griff or not so hard after Love IMHO. What other needle changer is out there that Portland can deal for? The Blazers sign Griff and they are a legit contender I say as long as he can stay the fuck healthy.

Nugs are so loaded.

Murray/ Morris
Harris/ Barton
Beasley/ Craig / MPJ
Millsap/ Grant / Hernangomez
Jokic/ Plumlee

They are legitimately 10+ players deep and have guys who can play 20 mpg playoff games.

Winner: Portland, not satisfied
I don't mind the Portland Trail Blazers' gamble on Contract Year Hassan Whiteside, even if it cost them Maurice Harkless -- meaning Portland lost both its rangy starting forwards (Harkless and Al-Farouq Aminu) in the span of 36 hours. The Blazers have to get by with guards sliding up a position and bigs -- Zach Collins -- sliding down. (Anthony Tolliver can fill minutes, too.)

Eh. Harkless and Aminu appear more essential in stature -- big wings who can guard other big wings -- than they are in reality. Every postseason, opponents dared Harkless and Aminu to shoot 3-pointers. Every year, they missed until Portland cut their playing time. The Blazers are just getting that process over early.

Whiteside is comfortable with almost everything Portland asks of its centers: hang near the rim on defense; gobble up offensive rebounds when opponents swarm Lillard and CJ McCollum; and post up the occasional mismatch. His entitled pouting won't fly on Lillard's team. In Miami, Whiteside could talk himself into the (false) idea that he was both the Heat's best and highest-paid player. Neither is true in Portland. Even Whiteside must recognize that.

One Portland-specific area of concern: Whiteside has no track record making plays in space, something every Blazer screen-setter must do given how defenses trap Lillard. (Whiteside is a lazy, noncontact screen-setter to boot.)

Whiteside is a sloth with the ball. He has averaged fewer than one assist per game every season of his career save 2017-18 -- when he averaged exactly one. He makes Enes Kanter look like Draymond Green.

Still: Whiteside will have some monster statistical games mooching off Portland's star guards, and that raw production matters over the slog of the regular season. He's a fine placeholder for Jusuf Nurkic.

Portland's young players are primed for leaps. Kent Bazemore and Rodney Hood stabilize the outside shooting. Portland is still one move from being a real title threat, but it will enter this season in good position to strike.

Maybe a little context? Minutes played is pretty different.

Doesn't matter anyway. Rich Paul is his agent. I'm sure he'll find his way to the Lakers

Skal averaged 18.5 and 20.7 minutes his first two seasons in the league. It was only this past season he fell out of the rotation. Context seems fine.

And we're gonna smash they asses just like we did last season WITHOUT Nurk and they were fully healthy.

Their Center is soft, STILL can't play D, and we gon' bust they ASS if we see them in the playoffs.

Maybe Jokic will come back in the fall looking like a young Dolph Lungren. I doubt it, the boy seems to like his meat and 'taters.

Is that Zach Lowe? Let’s take a look back to his article last offseason when he said Portland would implode and he only had them in the playoffs because of Jimmy Butlers trade request (his words.) I fucking hate the national media so much.

I wanna see if we can pry Beasley.

I hope to see them again, that was a really fun series to watch.

Ya, this dude!!!! He's gonna make 19.5 MILLION next season!
That's not possible. From what I've read on a message board, I've come to the conclusion that only Olshey would give out a contract like that.

So, Denver is trading their 2020 first round pick to OKC for Jerami Grant. That's a pretty significant trade IMO

for one thing, it could be a strong signal OKC is tossing in the towel and giving up on their current team. It may mean they have the bones of a Westbrook trade in place..or at least the x-rays

on the other end, this makes Denver quite a bit deeper and better. Grant is the type of versatile forward who can do a passable job of defending a guy like AD and somebody like Kawhi or Paul George. He's also a threat from three as he shot over 39% last season. A 3&D stretch-4 which is the rage these days. And, he's a candidate to be the long term replacement at PF for Millsap.

while Portland was adding Hezjona and Tolliver after losing Mo and Aminu, Denver was adding Grant. Unless Hezonja has a MIP type season, the Nuggets have done better

the Blazers will likely fill their remaing spots with SL guys...maybe a vet min and a SL guy. I don't think Jody is concerned about the tax
Oh god no. Our summer league guards suck. Say no to Stokes. Robinson is a long way from contributing in the NBA, if ever. Even Hoard isn't NBA ready. Need to see more of the Dauminator, maybe give him a two-way and find out.
