Ya, this dude!!!! He's gonna make 19.5 MILLION next season!

Man I really thought we were gonna have a dynasty when we drafted Oden. I hate thinking about it.

My morning snark: it's being reported in OKC that Bazley is also sitting out summer league. I am so glad we got Little instead of that snowflake!

BTW, does anybody else think Marcus Morris will have the best year of his career playing for Pops?

yeah, you're probably right.

I'm actually more interested in next season, as an NBA fan, than I have been for a long time. I think it's going to be real interesting, and the West is going to be a bloodbath

I was a little surprised to see that right now, Portland has the highest payroll in the league

the Blazers are 13M over the tax line. That leaves them 'paying' 26M in tax. That's pretty high

so then, If Portland added two more vet minimum players, their cap hit would be $1,620,564 each...if I'm reading the CBA right. That's the scale for a 2 year vet. The league reimburses teams for any salary over that scale. For instance, Tolliver's minimum is $2,564,75, but Portland only has to pay 1.62M of that, and that's the amount applied to the cap

so then, adding two more vets would add 3.25M in salary. That would add an additional 11m in tax

do you think Jody Allen has drawn a line somewhere between 26M in tax and 37M in tax she's unwilling to cross? Is there any significant difference between 171M in salary and tax vs 185M?

Portland has consistently had one of if not the highest salaries in the NBA with little to show for it. Olshey is trying to go all in for a chip. He seems to have convinced Jody to allow him to, or maybe last season convinced her to.

Good points...I don’t see them doing more with FA’s but a trade could be possible up to the deadline.

the Blazers will likely fill their remaing spots with SL guys...maybe a vet min and a SL guy. I don't think Jody is concerned about the tax

It’s more balanced now for sure. But Clippers are looking like the favorites. They beat a fully healthy Warriors team two times in the playoffs without Kahwi and PG. They pretty much have that whole squad back..

Westbrick to da Rockets is trending ...
I think we should bring him on board as third option.

I really want Nets to trade Kyrie for Westbrook, just for fun.

If not that, then Westbrook to the Spurs.

Why the hell are the Rockets always mentioned whenever a star is rumored to be traded....... Russ makes ZERO sense in Houston.
How so?

Including CP3 in the deal makes that argument over.

If I'm OKC, and I can get10 first round picks for PG and taking on CP3, I'd do that

Heat get Chris Paul

Rockets get Russell Westbrook

Thunder get Goran Dragic (expiring), Justise Winslow, 2020 and 2022 1sts from Houston

OKC doesn't get a ton for Russ but I think this is about as good as they'll get.

With his salary and declining shot and health, OKC should take it in a heartbeat.
