We currently have the second highest payroll in the NBA behind only Cleveland (after GS lets Livingston go). Even CLE might get below as JR Smith's deal is only partially guaranteed. I'm guessing OKC will try to sneak under.

Wonder how Jody feels about having the league's highest payroll one year into her tenure as owner.

It's just one year, hopefully she can live with that. Next summer all these awful contracts from 2016 come to an end, and our salary cap will be normal again

The best Westbrook deal OKC could possibly make right now would be to ask Miami to swap 2021 unprotected and 2023 lottery protected picks they currently own for 2020 unprotected and 2022 unprotected. The 2020 one would probably fall into late lottery or early non-lottery but if you send them Westbrook and ensure they have old Westbrook and Butler in 2021-22, the year of double draft, it could end up being quite good.

You can take Dragic as an expiring and flip him for at least a second rounder, he’s still quite good. The other players to match salary would be tricky, and Miami are hard capped so cannot exactly take on any extra money. That deal would need to include a third and maybe evena fourth team. How many teams have remaining cap space though? I don’t think many. Or any if we are talking significant amounts.

After signing Juilius Randle, Bobby Portis, and Taj Gibson I was just thinking that New York really needs to sign another PF.

WHAT IN THE FUCK?
Hopefully we go after him at the Deadline, Morris is a good player

he's not that good and he sure as hell isn't good enough to overlook the classless move he's apparently considering' If he reneges, on his agreement, I want him nowhere near the Blazers
He would be the best forward we had in 4 years, and he can hit the open 3 and is a good defender, i would definetly go after him if i'm Neil

Well they will just make up some players nobody has ever heard of and make them into good NBA players anyway.

True, but compared to the magnificence of their past, this is a paradigm shift for that organization.

Probably want to refresh for the next 24 hours or so

ok then, I don't know how you refresh, but for me:

You sure that's going to last 24 hours?

What are the odds Amare can still contribute?

Hard to believe he is only 36. But unless he miraculously regains his explosiveness I don't see how he could possibly contribute.

I will never forget his first (maybe 2nd) summer league game back in 2002. I had front row seats watching Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler
talking trash to him. They were ganging up on him and neither would shut up. I was feeling bad for the kid because he looked nervous and kind of small next to them. Then all of sudden he just exploded on them, dunk after dunk. He just glared at them each time and neither neither of them said another word the rest of the game. It was definitely a holy shit moment realizing how good this kid was going to be.

I remember Paul Allen was in love with him as well and tried to do anything to get him in the draft

If Morris were to do that after the Spurs made a trade to clear room/cap space for him, I would expect some changes in how things progress with the smaller fish going forward.
Seems like the thing that should change is if you agree with someone, and the moratorium is over, you should put pen to paper. Dont agree and hang out.

I think Westbrook is a special case as in Presti will prioritize his wishes. He won’t trade him somewhere he doesn’t wanna go. Combine that with the limited number of teams that could/would take on that contract and I’m expecting a pretty meh return for OKC. Maybe we get involved and give up a first for Okpala? We have a TPE to absorb him and I’m pretty sure Olshey was going to draft him had Little not fallen. Miami and OKC both need to shed money. Could be a great opportunity
