Jon Gruden is 106-102 as an NFL head coach. Pete Carroll is 133-90-1.
Still just one super bowl tied each baby. Gruden has 8 more years to get another one. Does Pete?

Pete is slimy as they come slithering out of USC just in time.

Pete’s in better shape than Gruden so I think so.

Gruden hasn’t really built much in his career, he inherited mostly positive things before this most recent hire.

He built the raiders team that went to the superbowl. And then proceeded to beat them. Callahan is a good oline coach but he literally inherited the team Gruden built with minimal changes. One of the reasons Gruden was able to crush us.

Only coach traded for a 1st and a 2nd too.

People forget that Gruden was Sean McVay before McVay.

Look at the coaches in todays nfl that worked under Gruden at one point. The names are eye opening.

Now look at the names under Petes coaching tree. Leaves a lot to be desired.

Coaching trees aren’t that important, Belichicks is pretty meh too but he’s still an elite coach. Pete’s philosophy is what makes him successful, not many can really match his enthusiasm and mind numbing stubbornness. I don’t think Gruden is a bad coach but I think he’s a guy who can split a team and likes to rest on his accomplishments of the past.

Herbert getting shit on only helps him imo. Low expectations, depending on where he goes he could develop and turn into something special. I think he is the most pro-ready QB Oregon has produced. He isn’t the most flashy obviously but I think his game was meant for a pro style.

Gruden hasn't had a winning record since 2008. That's a long time in the NFL.

Herbert will be fine as long as he goes to a decent organization.

So much depends on OL and organizations too. The Chargers would be a decent fit as they do have a decent line, rb & receivers.

I Like him allot!
But for what he's being paid he better do better than 11 & 21 the next two years. His past performance and reputation got him that huge contract but he needs to win big soon to earn that contract.

Tua time!

My condolences when Miami selects Justin Herbert at 5 (or 3).

Only half-kidding (because reports are that only half of the Miami front office is on the Herbert train).

its def a smoke screen

if it’s not Tua then wait until next year for a QB

its def a smoke screen

For your sake, I hope so. I didn't think smoke screen because I don't see how it benefits them for people to think they may go Herbert over Tua. Are there teams that would leapfrog them to take Herbert in the top-five?

I like qbs that have played baseball and Herbert was a decent pitcher and infielder in younger years.
If he had played his last two years under Helfrich his college stats would be much better, IMO.

If teams think they go Herbert at 5, leaving Tua on the board, then they potentially avoid anybody trading up to 3 or 4 to grab Tua in front of them.

theyre doing anything to show they won’t take tua at 5, so nobody leapfrogs us for tua.

I know Chase Young is awesome, really awesome, but if you were Washington wouldn't you SERIOUSLY consider trading back? I think it's interesting that everyone says Burrow and Young are lock at #1 and #2. Washington has a ton of holes.

Washington is gonna get another decent pick or two. Trent Williams is very tradeable.

agree...it wouldn't surprise me to see them down trade for multi picks and or players.

I think the Lions might trade down for the aformentioned reasons especially if Chase Young is taken at #2.

Imo, Lions are more likely to trade down.
