Yep. I broke down and went all in on the forum. I don't know who the kid on my shoulders is though. OK, I do know and I am related to her.

I'm no Mixum, but it's becoming clear to me that the Blazers will finish with the 8th seed when it's all said and done.

The difference between me and the nay-sayers, is that I have NO problem finishing with the 8th seed. That will be roughly, if not exactly, 50 wins. 9 wins beyond what we did last year. I'll take it. That is a HUGE improvement.

-Utah will pass us.

-Denver will keep their lead over us.

-Phoenix won't make the playoffs.

That's how it's gonna be. But it's ok!! Just make the damn playoffs. The Blazers are fortunate to be where they are right now, and we all know it, so let's not lose perspective. Making the playoffs, at ANY seed, is a complete and undeniable success.

edit: I hope this thread gets bumped in April.........to tell me how stupid I was.....

Honestly, you shouldn't be worried about what seed you get. You are going to lose in the first round either way, whoever it is you get to play.

As for this thread...oy. Losing to a great home team in their arena close is actually pretty good work. Getting a few more points and the win would have been fantastic.

TWO through 8 seeds are going down to the wire. I still believe the Blazers can get the third, maybe the 2nd seed.

I think Dallas gets the eighth seed, I don't see them passing you. Plus that seems like a fun series.

I think if we play well we can finish 6th place.... either Dallas or NO will pass us, not sure which one. Houston will get 4th, Dallas/NO will get 5th we will get 6th and Dallas/NO will get 7th w/ Utah probably getting 8th.

IDK, it seems like my predictions change every day.

The Spurs and the Rockets both have below .500 road records currently. I don't think our road record is what fans should be concerned about. Our record against the western conference is much, much worse compared to most of the other teams fighting for a playoff spot. We are 17 and 16 against the WC. The Hornets are 18 and 16, the Suns are 19 and 13. The others are much better then that.

I don't think that bodes well for getting the 2nd or 3rd spot in the playoffs.

Yeah...it is for a WC Playoff team. Plus we've only won three games against above .500 teams (Hornets, Magic, Heat).

Mavericks 14-15
Hornets 14-13
Rockets 13-15
Phoenix 15-13
Utah 9-17

I think our road record stacks up well against most other WC playoff contenders. Winning consistently on the road is the hallmark of a strong, veteran squad -- I don't think it's shameful that we aren't there yet.
