How do you like our remaining schedule? Looks like we are done playing the big Guns / Trouble teams (except for Denver twice)?

I think there are plenty of "trouble" teams left on the schedule. The 3 game road trip of LAC, Pels, and Spurs won't have any pushovers. Blazers have a home & away left against Detroit and they've won 12 or their last 15 and have looked strong doing so. The home game against Indiana is not likely to be a cakewalk. There's a road game against Minny and they have a better home record than Utah.

my guess would be 12-5

I would trade CJ for Lou Williams straight up

I’d take 12-5. Won’t get us 2 seed though.

It must be tough being a Wolves fan. They gave Wiggin's & Town's the farm and have only made the playoffs 1 time in fifteen years. Different GM & Coaches haven't made much of an impact and I feel for the fans. Especially after being in a better position draft wise than many teams over the years. To me, this is a case where they should create continuity with a coach and a system with his type of players. I though they would be doing that with Thibs as one of the better thought of coaches in the league. Im thinking Towns will be the next Big Star to demand a trade?

Thibs seems like a Schuler/ Carlismo type coach that tend to wear players thin.

True but how many guards play good defense in today's NBA? Or should I say how many guards are allowed to play good defense in today's NBA? I really miss the days where hand checking was allowed.
right on, I'm with ya on that! It really is a run and gun league too.

Why? What does Lou do appreciably better?

statistically? quite a few things actually:

points/FGA: CJ 1.18....Lou 1.32
TS%: CJ .551....Lou .555
FT Rate: CJ .158....Lou .434
PER: CJ 16.7....Lou 21.7
assist rate: CJ 13.2%....Lou 33.7%
assists/100 possessions: CJ 4.0....Lou 9.6
winshare/48: CJ .106....Lou .130
box plus/minus: CJ -0.2....Lou +1.0

annual salary: CJ 27.6M....Lou 8M

now, Lou is posting these numbers as a 6th man, so his role is different than CJ's. He doesn't really have to defer to a player like Dame

I'd love for the Blazers to have Lou Williams as a 6th man. He could fill the roles of both Curry and Turner, and do a great job....much better than the two he replaced. At least so on the offensive end. Defense?...not so much

I wouldn't trade CJ for Lou though, but that's mainly because I'm holding out the remote hope that Portland will trade CJ for a better return

Lakers Ingram being shut down for rest of the season! #ZionToLA

As a 6th man I think Lou and CJ would be the best.

CJ shoots a better percentage from the field, the 3 point line and free throw line as well as a better efg%. He is also a better rebounder and scores more points

Cj is nice only thing he doesn’t really do well is pass and get to the line. But the passing I think is because of his role. Dude already has a triple double when he runs his own team

He only scores more points because he plays more minutes per game than Lou.

Lou has a higher TS%.

Lou has a higher TS%.

Career wise the TS% is virtually identical and over the career McCollum averages more points per 36 minutes. TS% is also a weighted stat in favor of those that get to the free throw line. efg% like I said is in favor of McCollum.

Since 1970/71 season - 8 teams have one more than 1 title
- 8 teams have won 1 title

Thats nearly 50 years with only 16/30 teams that have won titles.
Whats most impressive, the league/fans are good with it as the popularity of the NBA through TV contracts has really grown.
For those of you that haven't experienced a championship for less than 49 years, why do you still support a pro Basketball forum like this or the local team?
Is it because you are a fan of the game/team? or, is it the frenzy that social media causes with debates, and key board coaching/playing GM, op's, regardless of records, that keeps you coming.

I love the Blazers and the game of basketball. I love the X’s and O’s. I have really grown tired of the “ww”NBA at times, and honestly if the Blazers moved I would probably stop watching altogether. Usually when Im watching NBA basketball its related to the Blazers, like playoff positioning, they just played that team, or will be playing it soon.

I dont think the NBA is scripted, I dont think every ref is fixing games, but I do get really tired of NBA star calls AND I get tired of the stars whining they arent getting enough of them. Then theres all the officiating inconsistency. The NBA to me has put entertainment 1st, and competitive basketball somewhere down the priority queue and I just have to accept that at times.

I've been watching a lot of NBA basketball this year as I watch the games on ESPN, TNT and NBATV along with some league pass games which is usually about 7 games a week besides the Blazer games. I don;t watch much college until March Madness and then I will follow it closely.

Oh, are we taking years from over a decade ago into consideration?

And that's why TS% is better. Driving 5 times and going 1-3 from the field and 3-4 on FTs is more efficient than going 2-5 from the field.
