The idea that trading one of Dame or CJ can save the franchise is a stupid one.

Yeah, it’s real stupid to break up a duo that can’t get out of the 1st rd making 25+ mil each for a top 5 pick in one of the deepest lotteries in the last decade... so stupid

So every team that didn't make it either to or out of the first round should trade its second best player? Every year? I'm having trouble imagining how that would build a contender over time.

Having said that, I might trade CJ for the No. 4 draftee. Depends.

I'm okay with Trading CJ for parsons and the 4th Pick, but the Blazers pay 50 million to parsons, Meyers and Turner, 50(!!!!) Fucking Million for 3 garbage Players. The 4th Pick better become a Star immediately or we can blow it up

Lol at deepest lottery in a decade. Thus draft is so damn top heavy it's pitiful. After 9-10 it's just ok.

Your record is still broken.

So why the FUCK are you ok with it???

It's simple, we Must Change something, this Team is going nowhere, it's a gamble to take parsons and the 4th Pick for CJ, but we Must try it, i'm done with 1st Round Exits

it's a gamble to take parsons and the 4th Pick for CJ,
dumb move in my view...CJ can bring you a lot more than that in a trade..and I doubt we're trading CJ....when you say "this team" you realize we'll have added or let players walk by training camp and we've been to the second round under Stotts for the first time in 14 years as a franchise...you talk like we're some lottery team when we were 3rd in the west and beat GS twice in Feb and swept OKC.....sheesh

Or we just wait until they expire in 2020.

To me it's just Dame fucking with Canzano and Jaynes

I guarantee you if we trade CJ for the 4th pick we won't even make the playoffs...

Why the fuck are you ok with paying Dame and CJ 60 mil combined for a team that can’t win a game vs the Pelicans???

Because realistically it doesn't matter. We aren't close to winning the ship for another 2-3 years. I don't subscribe top what I believe is a bullshit notion that Dame/CJ can't coexist.

First MFs said it was defense but nite have no legs to stand on that since we're a top 10 defense.

Now you're talking about money....

I didn't, and still don't, buy it that we're now a good defense. The playoffs exposed the gimmickry of our undersized, offensive-minded back court.

I think it just exposed more then anything else the fact our bigs cannot guard the PnR and we have very few players who actually want to take an open shot.

It seems to be a deep lottery every year... I always hear that.

Taking on chandler parsona just for the 4th pick and hope it works out? Id at least want someone who could play now if im also taking the 4th pick.

And our guards didn't make their counterparts look like they were playing the best ball of their careers? That deserves at least half the blame in guarding the PnR.

our guards played like crap but it definitely wasn't just them. NO figured out a way to attack us and they just did that for 4 games straight and we did not adjust to it at all. Its as much to blame on our Couching staff as our players as no adjustments were made at all on how to defend NO.

We got steamrolled by a team that played like they were juiced on roids while we were gassed and in a food coma....it's not a good parameter of what the Blazers were...it was just a really ugly slump against a team that played the best they played all season for 4 straight games...shit happens.

From a couple of these reports, it seems like Memphis is attaching the #4 pick to Parsons to get him moved. So it wouldn't take someone like CJ to get him. Unfortunately, Portland is over the cap so they can't just absorb his salary and would have to send players back. Memphis isn't taking guys like Turner and whatever else to make it match because they would just have another poor contract although Turner's is less and he is playing better than Parson.

However, if there was a way to figure it out, I would do it to get the #4 because it is something like that which Portland is going to have to do to impact their franchise.

Agreed.

CJ + Aminu + 24 -> Love + Korver + 8 (approximately cost neutral with picks added in)

Korver + Meyers + Layman + 8 -> Parsons + 4
(Saves Memphis $6M this season & $12M next)

Dame, Luka, Harkless, Love, Nurk
Baldwin, ET, Parsons, Collins (bench)

Take Bamba instead and sign-and-trade Nurkic for a SG.

I'm not so sure about it. MEM likes MPJ at #4.

Don't you have a front office source? I'd be interested as to which way Memphis is leaning.

It wasnt coincidence.

nope...it was a smackdown..credit the Pelicans...they humbled the Blazers...the good thing is that now they have to make moves...if we'd gone to the finals they'd bring the same roster back with a rookie or two
